Margaret L. Spindler

Margaret L. Spindler, 96, of Marietta, passed away at her home on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 10:40 am.

She was born on May 12, 1912, in Stanleyville, Ohio, to Edward and Edith Miller Trautner.  She was a member of Souls Harbor Baptist Church and the Ladies Society of the Church and a homemaker.  Margaret enjoyed quilting, gardening and watching baseball on TV.  Her love of children through baby sitting in her home served many families for many years.

On May 9, 1942, Margaret married Ralph Spindler who preceded her in death on July 31, 1972.  She is survived by one son and one daughter:  Ron (Mary Ann) Spindler of Riverdale, Utah, and Janet Quimby of Marietta; 3 grandchildren:  Jeff Quimby of Marietta, Brian (Mary Ann) Spindler and Stephanie Wilson of Utah; 2 great grandchildren:  Kaden Wilson and Kameryn Wilson.  She is also survived by her sister Alvena Devol of Williamstown and 1 brother-in-law Dale Hendershot of Marietta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Ronald Quimby, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters:  Merlin Trautner, Walter Trautner, Ruby Lowe, Betty Hendershot and Mildred Tullius.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (April 23) at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon with family present from 5 until 8 in the evening.
