Michael Eugene Wingrove

Michael Eugene Wingrove, Sr, 69, left for his eternal home Sunday, Jan 12, 2020 at 3:30 in the morning at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born the second of five sons on Aug 22, 1950 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Roland Earl Wingrove and Betty Jean (Hill) Wingrove. He spent his childhood years in and around Parkersburg, WV. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1969. After a very brief time working in Texas in the oil field, he worked as a breakfast cook for a majority of his life; including at Bob Evans, the Dutch Pantry, and a handful of other restaurants. He finished his working years and retired from Walmart #2078 in Marietta, Ohio. He married Alice L Allman(of Florida) in 1979 and though they divorced in 1990 he held no ill will towards her.
He leaves behind to mourn his death one son and one daughter. His first born Michael Paul Wingrove, Jr(38) and wife Sara(Offenberger)(27) of Devola, Ohio and their son Noah(1.5yrs)and his youngest, a daughter, Holly Renee Wingrove(37), also of Devola Ohio. He also leaves all four brothers; his older brother Gary, and younger brothers Ray, Roger, and Kenny. He also leaves behind two nieces and two nephews; Gary, Tina, Ryan, and Tiffany and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father Roland (1928-2008) and mother Betty (1927-2010). He was also proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents Ross Wingrove (1901-1983) and Thelma Elizabeth (Adams)(1911-1982), and maternal grandparents Raymond Glenn Hill (1897-1981) and Hattie Blanche (Webb)(1902-1993). He also was preceded by his son and daughter-in-law’s baby girls; Rosalyn Ruth, and Trinity Rose.
He fondly remembered his time spent with his maternal grandparents Roland and Hattie. He enjoyed spending time with his children, going to church, studying the Bible, working jigsaw puzzles, rooting for the West Virginia Mountaineers, word search puzzles, traveling to Amish Country with his daughter on C&L tours, but most of all he adored his grandson Noah and loved every moment he spent with him. He was looking forward to meeting his new granddaughter Anastasia Noelle in June but shall instead watch her from heaven. His children remember his breakfast food very well. He taught both of his kids how to cook, and even in his last years he could still cook a mighty fine breakfast for them.
His children would like to thank the ICU nurses, Drs, and hospice nurses at Riverside for their kindness and helpfulness in this hard time.
We will miss him immensely, but we know he has gone to be with our Heavenly Father.
Funeral Preparations are being done by McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home of Marietta, Ohio. Visitation will be Wed, Jan 15th 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral will be Thurs, Jan 16th, at the funeral home at 10:30am with Pastor Terry Schmelzenbach of Marietta First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Putnam Cemetery in Devola.
