Paul Gene Doan, 89, of Marietta passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his home. He was born April 11, 1932 in Lower Salem, Ohio a son of Delbert and Cecile Forshey Doan.

Paul had been employed as a sandblaster for Marietta Concrete, was a member of International Labor Union 497 and a lifetime member of Putnam Congregational Church. He was a veteran with the 7th Infantry U. S. Army serving during the Korean War.

On September 8, 1956, he married Leona Pearl Stark who preceded him in death on April 28, 2006. Paul is survived by 5 daughters: Debby Pearl Martin (Rex Mayle) of Bartlett, Vicky Kay (Mike) Lauer of Marietta, Patty Sue (James) Tidd of Reno, Tracy Lyn (Ralph) Fankell of Reno, Kristy Rena (Todd) Weckbacher of Devola; 9 grandchildren: Adryanne Garrett, Jasmine Hall, Karrie Lang, Kayla Antill, Jamie Harris, Ethan Tidd, Patrick Fankell, Faith and Madison Weckbacher; 5 great grandchildren: Brooklyn and Archer Garrett, Brylee Lang, Kenadee Antill and Reed Harris. He is also survived by his companion Doris Peele and good friend Regis Lang.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Paul Gene Doan, Jr., 2 brothers, Russell and John Doan and sister Virginia Klein.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Apr. 24) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Putnam Cemetery with full military rites.
