Richard Ernest Brown

Richard Ernest Brown,85, of Browns Road, Marietta, died May 7, 2018 at the Arbors at Marietta. He was born December 1, 1932 in South Dayton, NY. to Maurice Timothy Brown and Verta Alfreida (Felt) Richter.

He spent his early life in Buffalo, NY. He was in the Air Force from 1950 to 1953. After graduating in 1957, he was employed as a designer for Reynolds Aluminum in Louisville, KY. Before moving to Marietta in 1967. Then for Remington Rand, Sperry Univac, Kardex and The Airolite Co. in Marietta.

He enjoyed the outdoors; hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and archery. Also he was a “HAM” radio operator and a “Rock Hound” collecting rocks and minerals, making jewelry with his treasures that he found. After retiring in 1995, he stayed active as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and as a driver for the Disabled American Veterans and for the Franciscan Meals Program. He was a member of the Marietta Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years; Delores Viola Brauneis Brown and one daughter, Linda Mae Brown; four sisters and one brother; Shirley Brochinski, Nancy Wesolowski, Judi Salter, Pat Popp and John Richter.

Services are at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 10th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Bishop Rick Gray officiating. Entombment is in East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
