Richard L. Steele
Richard L. Steele, 53, of Marietta formerly of St. Marys, WV, passed away at 7:20 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 11, 1965, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Landon “Gump” Steele and Janet Sue Steele Wolfe.
He was a 1983 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He was employed by the Pleasants County School Board for over 20 years before retiring for health reasons. He was also a volunteer for Pleasants County Fire Department and EMS and a member of Williamstown F.O.E.
He is survived by his children, Clayton Steele of Morgantown, WV, and McKenzie Steele of Coolville, his sister Charlotte (Dan) Hansen of Marietta and brother John (Vicki) Steele and 2 nieces, Jennifer Farley and Tess Steele and nephew Jared Steele.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday evening (May 13) at 7:30 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with visiting before the service from 2 until 7:30. After the service, according to his wishes his body will be cremated. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
