Shirley Pittman Rodes Wendelken

Shirley Pittman Rodes Wendelken, 84, of Marietta, left this world to her heavenly home on January 7, 2020. She was born in Beckley, WV and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents Basil and Alma (Lilly) Pittman, her husbands Thomas “Mickey” Rodes and Richard Wendelken. Also her sisters Doris Riedlinger and Patty Reid and in laws Timmy Rodes and Ellen Pruett preceded her in death.

Shirley is survived by her children Jerry Rodes, Pamela (John) Dolinger and Michael (Leslie) Rodes, as well as, step children Steve (Chris) Wendelken, Rick Wendelken, Debbie Nelson, and Joy Levio. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sisters Barbara Hamilton, Mary Maxey and sister-in-law Sue Nazworth also survive with many nieces, nephews and many others she treated as grandchildren including Andy Brooker and his children.

A funeral service will be held 7 pm Friday, January 10th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with visitation 2 hours prior to the service and at 1:30 pm Sunday January 12th at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, on Kanawha Street in Beckley, WV with visitation from 11 to the hour of service.
