William “Bill” H Russell

William “Bill” H Russell, 89, of Marietta passed away 6:41 am, August 9, 2019 at Harmar Place in Marietta.

Bill was born August 14, 1929 in Springfield Ohio to Leslie S. and Annabel (Shoaf) Russell. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from the National Guard. He served as assistant magistrate in Parkersburg WV.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Marian Wright Russell of Marietta, sons David (Joy) Russell of Columbus, Ohio, Brian (Kathy) Russell of Georgetown KY, and William Dwain (Debbie) Russell, Jacksonville, FL, and daughters Sherry (Alan) Porter of Marietta, Kathy (Mark Osborne) McNutt of Transfer, PA, and Lori Smith of Auburn, MA. Also surviving are grandsons: Eric (Amy) Russell, Ryan Russell, Alan (Amanda) Porter, Andy (Kassy) Porter, Matt Smith, Brannon Smith, Shane Osborne, and Jacob Osborne and granddaughters: Mary (Dan) Hubert, Lindsey Russell, Leigh Ann Russell, Ashley (Adam) Taylor, Samantha Russell, Jennifer Osborne and Autumn (Tyler) Eppley. Four great grandsons and four great granddaughters, and nephews Tom (Penny) and Danny (Cindy) Evans; Dennis (Carolyn) and Bill Barlow, and Mark (Susan) Russell and a niece Alicia (François) Alarie also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday, August 13th at St. Luke Lutheran Church with burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
