Dr. Peter E. Hogan
Peter Edward Hogan’s loving wife announces his death, August 18, 2015.
He was born April 14, 1943, in Milford, Massachusetts a son of the late William James and Edith Short Hogan, Sr.
Pete was a graduate of Westborough High School, earned a BS degree in teaching at Worchester State Teacher’s College, his Master’s Degree at the University of Connecticut and his PhD in Zoology and Animal Behavior at Michigan State University. Pete worked as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut until coming to Marietta where be began working as a biology professor at Marietta College from 1975 until 2009. He continued for several years after retirement as an adjunct professor in the Physician Assistant program. While at Marietta College, Pete was honored with a Harness Fellowship for excellence in teaching. His friends and family will miss him very much.
Pete is survived by his wife, Janice Bragg Hogan. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren: Christopher Michael (Amy Pack ) Hogan, and grandson Gabe Hogan residing in Ft. Wayne, IN; Katherine Anne Hogan Gardner (David) Brocker, and grandson Alexander (Jessica) Gardner, residing in Virginia; Christopher Matthew (Leah Dillenbeck) Twell, and granddaughter Amara Tweel, residing in Richmond, VA; Patrick Alexander (Summer Devol) Tweel, and children Jamison Devol , Jackson Devol and Bailey Noelle Tweel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (Aug. 21) at 10:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Father Michael Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
