James M. Murphy
James M. Murphy, 63, of Newport passed away at 3:30am, Sunday, September 13, 2015, at his home. He was born September 13, 1952, in Ashland, KY, to Harold and Senna Brickey Murphy. Jim was an auto body mechanic and a member of Painters Local 1144.
On August 6, 1976, he married Nancy Benson who survives with 2 sons: Ray Murphy and Donnie (Christina) Murphy both of Newport; 8 grandchildren: Jared, Dylan, Makenzie, Brainna, Shayla, Riley, Cailin and Dade: 4 brothers: William, Tim (Diane), Tony (Cathy) and Jerry (Becky) Murphy; 3 sisters: Ella (Don) Sickles, Mary Stewart, Ina (Phil) Wright, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold “Skip” Murphy and sister Linda Flood.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Tuesday morning at 9:00am. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
