Charlene Ruth (McDonald) Stephan
Charlene Ruth (McDonald) Stephan died peacefully at her home in the presence of her family on October 20, 20l5.
A long time and devoted member of the Barlow Presbyterian Church, Charlene was a graduate of Warren High School, attended Ohio University , and worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital in the lab for more than 20 years. She also was a consultant for Home Interiors Inc. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, and had recently served as a presiding judge for the Washington County Board of Elections and was a member of OCCL. In her youth she was a member of 4-H for 10 years where she had served as a Junior Leader. She was a saxophonist in the Warren Local Marching Band and a member of Junior Achievement.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister Charlene is survived by her husband, Larry D. Stephan of Vincent, daughters Heather Janene (Josh) Mitzel of Newark, Ohio, Kara Renee Locke (Chris Locke) of Reynoldsburg, a son, Heath Eric of the home, and her sister, Janette McDonald, of Vincent and grandchildren, Kyah Raygen, Calissa Breya and William Douglas Locke, and Katherine Zoe and Elijah Aaron Mitzel.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Carl McDonald.
A celebration of Charlene’s life will be held 1 pm Saturday, October 24th at Barlow Presbyterian Church with the family will be receiving friends from 12 to 1 at the church. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the Barlow Presbyterian Church or Marietta Memorial Hospice.
