Betty J. Stoops

Betty J. Stoops, 83, of Marietta, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 25, 1928, at Zanesville, OH, a daughter of Wesley and Loretta Henry Williamson. Betty had worked as a caregiver. She enjoyed her pets, flower gardening and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by 4 children: Sue (Duane) Mantel of Lower Salem, Barbara (Larry) Burer of Lower Salem, Jeff (Barb) Dutton of Canton, Brenda (Bill) Kidd of Marietta, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her sister Joan Ayers of Macksburg, sister-in-law Donna Williamson of Belpre and several nieces and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Williamson and infant son Dwight Dutton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning (August 3) at 10:00 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Ogg officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8.
