Burlen C. “Bud” Henline

Burlen C. “Bud” Henline, 91, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2015, at his residence in Canton, OH.  Formerly from Marietta and born on February 19, 1924, in Gassaway, WV, Bud was the son of the late Coy C. “Frank” and Audra (Reip) Henline.

Bud was in the C.C.C., a B-29 Flight Engineer during WWII, serving on Tinian Island among others and a graduate of WV University.  Bud worked as a Professional Civil Engineer for ODOT and TX Parks and Wildlife retiring in 1992.  He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfathers as well as a  skilled woodworker, gardener, avid golfer and artist.
 
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nora (Steed) Henline, sister Irmalee Elder, four children:  Melissa Henline, Mary Burris, John (Cindy Kitner) Henline and Margi (Dan) Preston; ten grandchildren:  Larissa, Matthew and Megan Ross, Lacey Gutierrez, Ryan Basham, Kristen, Lillie and Elizabeth Henline, Emilee Cooper and Katie French; 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Owen Henline and sister Ernestine Hagy.
 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Dec. 5) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home.  Family will greet friends before the service from 10:00 until 11:00.  Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
