Shirley Leon Wolfe

Shirley Leon Wolfe, 75, of Marietta, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 10:25pm at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 22, 1935, in Pennsville, Ohio, a son of Oral and Ruby Wient Wolfe.  He retired from Marietta Concrete and Marietta Structures after 48 years.  He was a member of Moose Lodge 1823 for 50 years, The National Guards for 10 years and Wild Turkey Federation.  He loved hunting, fishing, his garden and giving everyone food from his garden.

On June 1, 1957, he married Regina Strahler Wolfe who survives with 1 daughter, Karen Schwendeman and her fiancé Tom Dyar, 2 sons:  Bill (Lisa) Wolfe, Terry (Catherine) Wolfe ; grandchildren: Jessica (Steven) Anderson, Gary (Tessa) Wolfe, Kristopher (Lindsy) Wolfe, Amanda ( fiancé Josh Geer) Schwendeman, Kaleb and Kourtney Wolfe, Keith Schwendeman, Shannon Wolfe; great grandsons:  Brandan and Ryan Huffman, Duncan Wolfe and great granddaughter Madison Wolfe.  Also surviving are 2 sisters, Eileen (Dean) Gerber and Barbara (Bill) Smith and sister-in-law Annebelle Wolfe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Wolfe and 2 brothers, Robert and Gary Wolfe and son-in-law Bernie Schwendeman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday  (July 27) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Strahler officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon after 2:00 with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.  Online condolences are offered at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
