Leslie Claude “Moe” Shrader, Jr.
Leslie Claude “Moe” Shrader, Jr. 75, of Marietta and Gainesville, FL, went to heaven at 11:15 am, Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was the son of Leslie Sr. and Virginia Shrader, born on July 16, 1941, in Marietta.
Leslie was in cub and sea scouts, had worked at Dairy Queen, as a golf caddy, “shoe shine boy” at Johnnie Burke’s Barber shop and worked at Dawsons Bowling Lane repairing pin setters. He attended Willard, Norwood and Marietta High School. Moe was a painter and had painted at the Lafayette Hotel and many other businesses and homes in the area. He also had worked State Fairs with a mechanical bull and worked in Stewart, FL, at the manatee resort. He was care giver of his mother until her death.
Les was a Korean War Veteran serving with the 1st Calvary, U.S. Army 1960-1963, was a life member of V.F.W. Post 5108, a dedicated friend to the Primary Purpose Club and Triangle Club. He was looking forward to his sobriety birthday, March 19, “15 years.” On July 21st, age of 72, he became a born again believer and was a prayer partner with many.
Survived by his daughter Darliss Eichorn and his son Todd Weddle; grandchildren: Cody, Quinton, Danielle, Tanner, Christian; great grandchild Jace; sister Shirley Irene (Elbert) Cox, many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special buddy and care giver Ed Mayton. Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Rusty and Mike and a baby girl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday (Mar.10) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
