Ruth I. Schwab

Ruth I. Schwab, 87, of Marietta, lost her battle with emphysema and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. 

She was born on June 20, 1923, in Newport, a daughter of James and Luella May Farnsworth Wallace.  Ruth had been employed as a seamstress at Zide’s Sport Shop.  Ruth and her husband bowled in local leagues and in recent years spent many happy evenings with friends at bingo.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

On November 23, 1940, she married Fred Schwab who preceded her in death.

Ruth is survived by her children Deanna (Ken) Foster of Vermillion, Ohio and Jim (Jeanne) Schwab of New Matamoras, and Karol (Rob Hannahs) Schwab Hasley of Marietta; grandchildren:  Kendra (Turney Berry) Foster, Jamie (Michael) Glover, Jana (Greg Stevens) Schwab; great grandchildren:  Heather Crist, Maureen Foster, Renee Greer, Noah Glover, Jalynn Glover, Michael Glover, Samara Schwab, Bryan Schwab, Arabella Schwab. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Kenneth and Larry Wallace, and grandson Bryan Foster.

The family would like to thank Dr. Francis Lee and staff for years of care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 6th, at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Seagraves officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.   Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 until 8.   On line condolences may be sent to the family at:   www.mslfuneralhome.com.
