George D. Day
George D. Day, 83, of Marietta passed away October 11, 2009 surrounded by his family.
He was born December 11, 1925 in Washington County to the late Charles E. and Leota Hanna Needs Day. George was a plumber and had retired from Carvers. He was a member of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 168 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On December 23, 1944 he married Nancy Lucile Williams who died September 2, 1985.
Surviving is his daughter Carolyn Kay (Douglas) Christopher of Marietta and son Charles E. Day. Also surviving are grandchildren George Anthony Day, Douglas Perry Christopher, Jr., Charles Daniel Day, Nancy Michelle Becker, Diana Kay Parks, Daniel Edward Christopher, Lacey Kay Day and Charles Edwin Day. Twelve great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his wife and parents, a brother Harold F. Day preceded him in death.
At his request, a private committal service was held at the convenience of his family.
