Dorothy Ann (Dottie) Daugherty
Dorothy Ann (Dottie) Daugherty, 88, of Marietta passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 7, 1936, in Shade, Ohio a daughter of Francis Robinson and Mary Geneva Gose Robinson.
Dottie was a graduate of Chauncey High School in 1954. She had worked at Marietta Food Center and retired from Walmart. She also cared for many children in her home. She was a long standing member of Marietta Bible Center Church. She loved to watch golf and OSU Football. She was kind and compassionate to everyone she met. Her greatest love was The Lord and her family.
On May 4, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart (their first date was on Valentine’s Day) Donald Daugherty who was a devoted loving husband who took care of Dottie until the Lord called her home. Also, surviving are their children: DeeDee Townsend of Marietta, Don Daugherty, Jr. (Penny) of Marietta, Diane Friedler (Todd Blunk) of Cleveland, Dana “Boopsie” Cruse (Roger) of Williamstown; grandchildren: Rachel Marie Iancu, Brent Townsend, Jake Townsend, Kyle Daugherty, Siera Bourizk, Jarred Cruse, Brianna Cruse and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings: Dick Robinson, Judy Jones, Norma Bails and Paul Robinson and many nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Kenny Townsend and siblings: Frank Robinson, Jerry Robinson, Patty Stanley, Dana McGraner, Linda Jones and infant Roger Robinson and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday (Dec. 3) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Teddy Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
