Connie J. Prescher
Connie J. Prescher, 84, of Marietta passed away at her home on February 6, 2026.
She was born December 26, 1941 in Lower Salem to Paul and Olive Holshu Moore. She was a 1959 graduate of Marietta High School. Connie had worked as a secretary for the City of Marietta Water Dept, First Baptist Church and Marietta City Schools before retiring from Wood County Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta and Marietta Kiwanis Club. Connie enjoyed attending the church circle groups and the Goose Creek School and Marietta High School reunion luncheons. She donated her time and support to various community needs including the local food pantries Coats for Kids, Christmas Shoe Boxes, the Humane Society of the MOV and other local charities. Connie loved animals especially her cats.
On June 18, 1983 she married Carl Rex Prescher who preceded her in death on May 10, 2014.
Surviving are two daughters, Renee (Bob) Kornmiller, Kara (Craig) Koons; one son, C.J. (Candy) Prescher; eight grandchildren, Ash and Ethan Bloomingdale, Clayton and Nathan Matheny, Ashton and Sami Koons, Christopher and Jayde Prescher; great grandchildren, Carly Bloomingdale and William Hank Matheny. A brother-in-law, Rick Seevers also survives.
In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by her brother Roger Moore, sister Linda Seevers and an infant son Byron Alan Britton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday February 13th at First Baptist Church of Marietta with Pastor Ryan Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Messages of sympathy may be sent at Lankfordfh.com.
