Richard “Dick” Ray Hockenberry

Richard “Dick” Ray Hockenberry, 72, of Reno passed away at his home on Sunday October 28, 2012.

He was born December 6, 1939 to the late Charles and Nina (McCauley) Hockenberry.  Dick was a 1960 graduate of Newport High School and had been employed at Kardex Manufacturing until his retirement.  He was an avid bass fisherman and help found the Reno Bass Club.  Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

 On September 28, 1962 he married Barbara Rouse who survives with children Chet Hockenberry (Kathy) of Reno, Heidi Myers (Bill) of Reno and Becky Cox (Buddy) of St. Marys.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Chad (Caitlin), Kyle, Shannon (Jimmy), Rachel, Aspen and Bailey; and great grandchildren Karah, Maddie, Bubbie and Kylee.  Dick’s sister Grace Long (Edwin) and brother William Hockenberry (Bonnie) also survives with nephews Dow Hockenberry, and Greg Long (Sheila) and niece Terri Haines (Glen) and a great niece Alicia Hockenberry.

In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by an infant grandson Travis Ray Cox.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday November 1st at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Bennett officiating.  Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery.  Friends may call from 3 pm Wednesday.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com., 72, of Reno passed away at his home on Sunday October 28, 2012.
