Sharon Ann Dennis Legleitner
Sharon Ann Dennis Legleitner, 77, of Marietta, Ohio, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. It was fitting that she passed on the first day of spring because she had a great love of flowers and nature.
Sharon was born in Marietta Ohio on August 17, 1935 to Raymond Dennis and Olive Dixon, the youngest of four daughters. She met the love of her life, Frederick Frank Legleitner, Jr., and they were married on October, 15, 1956 They made their home at Gravel Bank in Warren Township, Marietta, Ohio.
While raising their four children, Sharon was involved in many artistic endeavors. Her first official oil painting class was in 1975. From there she expanded her talents in oils to watercolors and acrylics. From her studio she also created paintings, jewelry, clocks, and furniture. She was a founding member of The Riverside Artists Gallery. She was also a member of the Southeastern Ohio Watercolor Society in Zanesville, Ohio, The Marietta Arts and Crafts League, The Parkersburg Art League, and Arts Bridge. She provided art instruction to children in various summer camps. She was an award-winning artist in juried shows and displayed her work in many area businesses. Those fortunate enough to possess a piece of her work can appreciate the rare gift she was blessed with.
In addition to her love of art, she was a published poet and loved her country. She also enjoyed traveling, deep-sea fishing, perennial gardening, her koi fishpond, birds, cats and all animals. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed sharing a cup of tea with friends. She loved entertaining, especially hosting the annual family Christmas party.
Sharon was involved with her church, teaching children’s’ bible classes, visiting shut-ins, contributing her artistic talents to the church and much more. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved singing Christian hymns.
She was very stylish with shoes to match every outfit, sewing, knitting, and crocheting most of her own clothing.
Sharon is survived by her sisters, Corda Rae Repsher , Altoona, PA, Dixie Lee Burkhart (Donald), Marietta. Sister-in-Law, Gertrude Fryman (William) Marietta, Brother-in-Law, Craig Legleitner (Jo Ann), Marietta. Daughter, Amanda Robb (Ernest), Monroeville, PA, Son; Frederick Legleitner III,(Mary Ann), Stuart FL; Daughter, Cathy Giomblanco ,Weston FL, and son, Brett Legleitner, Marietta. Ten Grandchildren: Charissa Biehl, Shannon Porter (Charles), Pierret Giomblanco (Tyler), Chase Legleitner, Brianna Sparkman (A.J.) Jessica Legleitner, Cole Legleitner, Allegra Giomblanco, Chandler Legleitner, Christopher J. Giomblanco. 3 great grandchildren; Carmen, Andrea, and Tyler Mason, and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Father-in-law, Frederick Legleitner Sr., Mother-in-law Jaunita Legleitner, her husband, Frederick Frank Legleitner, Jr. sister Rosemary Lou Semon, brother-in-law, Dail Semon. Brother-in-law, Jack Repsher, Sister-in-law, Patricia L. Foy,Brother-in-law, John Foy, Nephew, Jeffry J. Foy, Nephew, Jonathan Burkhart, Niece, Shiela Repsher, Step father, Otha Waterman.
Special thanks to the staff of the Haven at Harmar Place and all the employees who provided care for her there. Special thanks to her granddaughters, Charissa and Shannon for their loving care and support throughout her illness.

A memorial service is planned for a bright sunny day later this spring.
