Robert L. “Bob” Dye

Robert L. “Bob” Dye, 83, of Wingett Run passed away at 2:07 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.  He was born on April 11, 1929, at Rinard Mills a son of John William and Freda Rinard Dye.

Bob was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Korea, had been employed by the River Gas Company and Patton Manufacturing where he never missed a day of work for 30 years, and was a farmer and raised cattle.   He was a member for over 40 years of the Masons and a life member of the VFW.  He enjoyed playing cards and lottery tickets.
 
On November 9, 1951, he married Betty Lou Brown who preceded him in death on December 24, 1997.
 
He is survived by his children:  John (Nita) Dye of Dart, Mike Dye of Marietta, Tammy (Roy) Theobald of Wingett Run; grandchildren:  Mandy (Gene) Amos of Wingett Run, Matt Theobald of Minneapolis, Melissa (Adam) Work of Marietta, William Dye of Dart, Molly Theobald of St. Marys; and great grandson Graeden Work. He is also survived by brothers and sisters:  Gary (Garnet) Dye, Lester (Delores) Dye, Doris Ann Dougherty, Ruth Craig and sisters-in-law Georgia Dye and Janet Dye.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 8 brothers:  Wilber, Wayne, Harold Lee, William, John, Walt, Jimmy, Victor and sister Maxine Martin.
 
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Apr. 8) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Shawver officiating.  Burial will follow in Muskingum Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday after 2:00 with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
