Ronald J. Heiss
Ronald J. Heiss, 69, of Barlow, Ohio, passed away at 4:30 am on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home. He was born on May 5, 1944, in Marietta a son of William and Marcella Rauch Heiss.
Ron was a truck driver who loved stock car racing, John Deere Tractors, spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events and his dog, Baby Doll. He was a member of Barlow Presbyterian Church.
On February 2, 1966, he married Brenda Bohl who preceded him in death on September 11, 1993. One son and two daughters survived this marriage: Jeffrey (Lora) Heiss of Waterford, Karen (Buck) Lamb of Marietta, Kimberly (Patrick) Dawson of Waterford, 12 grandchildren: Amy, Paige, and Tyler Lamb; Bethany, Hannah, Brendan and Holden Dailey; Ashley and Beth Dawson; Jarrod, Austin and Grace Heiss; great grandson Eli Lemley.
On September 25, 1995, he married Deidra Wright who survives with two daughters: Dominique Hickey and friend Jenny Christopher of Parkersburg and Danielle Leal-Roberto of St. George, Utah; grandchildren: Evangelina and Emery.
He is also survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters: Kenneth (Sharon) Heiss, Robert (Phyllis) Heiss, Jack (Dottie) Heiss, Edith Lauer all of Marietta, Joanne (John) Hickman of Fairless, PA, Mary (Charles) Campbell of Waterford, Rita Mae Farley of PA and special friends, Barry Kitts and Jean James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, brother Billy Heiss, sister-in-law Raeleen Heiss, brother-in-law Norman Lauer, father-in-law Harold Wright.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (May 22) at 10:30 am at Barlow Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rick Hastings officiating. Burial will be in Barlow Cemetery.
