Floyd Vernon Becker
Floyd Vernon Becker, 75, of Marietta passed away July 8, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 16, 1937 in Lawrence Township to Allie A. and Betty E. (Smith) Becker. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1957 and served 8 years in the National Guard. He worked as a carpenter and built houses and later worked in the maintenance department at Broughton’s Dairy for 30 years. Floyd was a member of the Eddy’s Ridge Church of Christ, an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his grandkids, auctions and traveling.
On June 21, 1961, he married Jane Ann Rose who survived with 5 children: Teresa Ann (Jack ) Frisone of Raleigh, NC, Thomas (Cheryl) Becker of Newport, Michelle (David) Parker of Littleton, CO, Pamela (Troy) Lemasters of New Matamoras, Bruce (Heather) Becker of St. Mary’s, WV; grandchildren: Ashley Becker, Seth Lemasters, Sarah Parker, Mary Katherine Becker, Emily Lemasters, Kendra Becker, Caleb Parker, Laura Frisone, Thomas Parker, Erika Becker. He is also survived by his brothers and sister: Gale, Wade, and Bill Becker and Nancy Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carmen Marie, brothers, Eldon and Stanley Becker and sister Ila McGregor.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 11) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Lloyd Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Moss Run Cemetery.
