Phillip H. Brown, Jr

Phillip H. Brown, Jr., 82, of Lowell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Selby General Hospital.  He was born March 4, 1931, in Parkersburg, WV a son of Phillip H. Brown, Sr. and Leona Graham Brown.  He was raised in Bloomfield.

He owned and operated Phillip Brown Oil & Gas Well Service until his retirement in 2002.  He was an avid gun collector and sportsman and a talented wood craftsman.  He was a member of the Little Muskingum Valley Baptist Church and several organizations, including Marietta Shrine Club, Scottish Rite of Marietta (life member), Scottish Rite of Cambridge (life member), Aladdin Temple of Columbus, OH, Masonic Lodge #429 in Lebanon, OH, Eastern Star for 50 years, York Rite of Marietta, National Rifle Association, Ft. Harmar Rifle Club, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association Friendship, OH, Southeastern Oil and Gas Assoc.
 
On October 22, 1949, he married Pauline Gardner who survives with his 2 beloved dogs, Tootsie and Ginger; 2 daughters and 1 son:  Bonnie (John) Heslop of Marietta, Judy (Roy) Bowersock of Bloomfield, Rusty (Crystal) Brown of Lowell, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Don and 5 sisters: Dora, Hope, Braunda, Mary and Betty.
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday (July 12) at 11:00 am at Little Muskingum Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Pringle officiating. Burial will follow in Little Muskingum Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Wednesday evening after 5.  Family present on Wednesday from 5-8 and on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8. A Masonic service will be held 8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
