    Gloria Laverna Hagar, 79,of Marietta died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. She was born April 2,1942, in Marietta Ohio to Stella and William Hawkins she graduated from Marietta High School.
    She worked at the Christian Anchorage until it closed then she moved to Harmar Place where she worked until she was no longer able. She loved to fish, camp, family get-togethers, but her biggest love and joy were her grand kids and great grand kids. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

  • Gary Edward Thomas

    Gary Edward Thomas, 74, of Marietta, passed away August 27, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1947 to Leland and Eileen Thomas. He was married to Theresa Strahler at St. Mary’s Church, Marietta, on July 21, 1973.
    Gary graduated from Marietta High School in 1965 and attended Ohio University and Washington State Community College. Gary served in the US Army and US Navy. He retired from Eramet in 2011. He was a member of the American Legion Post 64.Gary enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, vacations at Nags Head, NC, playing softball for many years at Hadley Field, and hunting.

    William J. King, 92, of Marietta passed away at 6:23 pm, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
    He was born March 17, 1929, in Miller, Ohio, a son of Albra and Clarinda Miller King. Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. He had been employed by Clarence Lowe Gas Station and Floyd Fouss Hilltop Gas Station and retired in 1991 from Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was baptized at Lowell Christian Church.

    She was born October 31, 1933, in Leola Arkansas to Clyde Raymond and Gladys Eula Reeves. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed her grandchildren and enjoyed camping,

    Ruth A. Schrader Kuhn, 86, of Marietta passed away at 7:00 am, Monday, August 23, 2021. She was born December 23, 1934, in Marietta a daughter of Leo Chester Schrader and Mary R. McGrew Schrader.
    Ruth graduated from Marietta High School, Class of 1952. She had been employed at Otto Brothers, Marietta Wholesale Grocery and East Lawn Memorial Park. She was an avid shopper, enjoyed playing Bingo and won several “powder puff” stockcar races.

  • Harold Jarrett

    Harold Jarrett, 80, of Beverly passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
    He is survived by his wife, Judy Nunn Jarrett and 3 stepchildren: Shelia Clavier, Mike Lucas and Robert Lucas. Harold was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he received a marksman metal.
    At his request, he was cremated and there will be no services at this time. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home assisted the family.
