  • Marian Bruns Webb

    Marian Bruns Webb, 95, of Marietta passed away at 8:27 am on October 2, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born September 10, 1925 in Greenville, PA to Ralph Louis and Florence (Peterson) Bruns. She had graduated from Ravenna High School before attending Kent State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Marian was an avid reader and loved tennis. Marian was a member of the Marietta Welfare League, Hill-n-Dale Garden Club, and the Betsey Mills Club where she was the last surviving founding member of the Betsey Bookers. She also had volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

  • Arthur W. Miller

    Arthur W. Miller, 88, of Marietta passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He was born on December 18, 1931 in Washington County, Ohio, to Daniel and Ruth Whitney Miller.
    Arthur served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War as a court clerk. He was employed by Golf Club of West Virginia as the superintendent until his retirement. He attended the Second Congregational Church.

  • Thomas Orville Hamilton

    Thomas Orville Hamilton, 73, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
    Tom was born in Cambridge, Ohio, where he frequently visited his grandparents Andrew and Irene Ford. Tom was raised in Wick, WV and graduated from Tyler County High School in Middlebourne. He attended West Virginia Tech and served four years in the Air Force. He and his wife, Mary Ann (Brammer) Hamilton, built their own home on Highland Ridge Road where they raised their family and started their business, Security Electronics. He was a partner in 5KW, Inc. serving as a radio engineer at WBRJ and WEYQ. He served on the Board of Trustees at Selby General Hospital. Tom taught electronics classes at Washington Technical College for many years. Tom was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Marietta. Tom was one of four children born to the late Charles Edward Hamilton and Martha Jean (Ford) Hamilton.

    Marguerite Caldwell Phillips, 102, of Marietta passed away at 3:08 pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Waterview Pointe.
    She was born September 13, 1918, in Pennsboro, WV, to Russell and Lily Jane Samples Caldwell. She was a homemaker.

  • Wayne Hendershot

    Wayne Hendershot, 75, of Germantown passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 8, 1944 a son of Harold Elias and Ruth V. Roberts Hendershot.
    Wayne had worked for Washington County Highway Department for over 30 years and retired in July of 1996 as a grader operator. He loved watching NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhart fan. He also enjoyed playing music and hanging out with his friends and working on old vehicles.

  • Pauline Louise McVay Brown

    On September 22, 2020, Pauline Louise McVay Brown of Front Royal, Virginia left her temporary home of 85 years and went to dwell in the House of the Lord forever. She died peacefully of natural causes. She was born in Marietta, Ohio on June 15, 1935 to the late Ollie C. McVay and Lina L. McCain McVay.
    She graduated from Marietta High School in 1953 and married Paul Edward Brown of St. Marys, WV on February 6, 1955. She was employed in the offices of Marietta Concrete and then with Union Carbide (silicones) of Sistersville, WV.
