  • Elwyn “Al” G Bartlett Jr

    Elwyn “Al” G Bartlett Jr, 89, of Fleming passed away peacefully at Heartland of Marietta on Wednesday January 8th, 2020 after a short illness. Al was born on September 26, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV to Elwyn and Hyla Bartlett. He enlisted in the 21st Infantry Eighth Army 24th Division January 25, 1949 where he served in the Korean War as a Sergeant with honors including a Purple Heart until June 24, 1952.
    After returning home from the service he married Mary Louise Allen on May 3rd, 1953, who preceded him in death.
    He is survived by two children, James Bartlett of Fleming and Jeanete Braddock of Marietta, two grandchildren, Renee (Rob) Shotwell of Vincent and Kyle Parks of Fleming, one step-grandson Phil (Monica) Braddock of Cincinnati, two great granddaughters, Arizzona Albright and Raylen Shotwell and three step great grandchildren Alexis, Max and Ava Braddock, one brother, Robert Bartlett of Marietta and several nieces and nephews.
    Al was also preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law Gary Braddock.
    Al was member of the American Legion Post 389 and he retired from Interlake (Globe) where he worked as an electrician from 1955-1986. He took over his parents’ farm shortly after returning home from the service where he was able to continue his love for farming until he was 85.

  • Linda J. Coxford

    Linda J. Coxford, 78, of Marietta passed away at 3:45 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1941, in Marietta to Carlos and Mary Margaret Bauer Pfeiffer.
    Linda had been employed at Harts Family Center until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, quilting, gardening, playing the Lottery, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

  • Shirley Pittman Rodes Wendelken

    Shirley Pittman Rodes Wendelken, 84, of Marietta, left this world to her heavenly home on January 7, 2020. She was born in Beckley, WV and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1953.
    She was preceded in death by her parents Basil and Alma (Lilly) Pittman, her husbands Thomas “Mickey” Rodes and Richard Wendelken. Also her sisters Doris Riedlinger and Patty Reid and in laws Timmy Rodes and Ellen Pruett preceded her in death.
    Shirley is survived by her children Jerry Rodes, Pamela (John) Dolinger and Michael (Leslie) Rodes, as well as, step children Steve (Chris) Wendelken, Rick Wendelken, Debbie Nelson, and Joy Levio. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Sisters Barbara Hamilton, Mary Maxey and sister-in-law Sue Nazworth also survive with many nieces, nephews and many others she treated as grandchildren including Andy Brooker and his children.

    John Joseph Hendershot, 72, of Lower Salem passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home.
    He was born on April 24, 1947, in Liberty Township, Washington County, Ohio, a son of Gale Joseph and Freda Mae Stryker Hendershot. John had worked in the construction industry.

    Ina Dawn Graham Nye of New Matamoras, Ohio died Friday, December 27, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital of health complications.
    Dawn was born January 29,1930 at Bloomfield, Ohio to Orris (Jobe) Graham and Floris Holland Graham. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School class of 1947. She was retired from Ormet Corporation at Hannibal, Ohio after 20 years of service.

  • Rex Carl Williams

    Rex Carl Williams, 71 passed at his residence on December 26, 2019. He was born August 11, 1948 to Carl and Jessie (Coleman) Williams. Rex enjoyed going to WASCO workshop, and various outings. He was an avid fan of older country music, playing his guitar and singing.
    Rex was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Delbert A. Williams Sr., sisters Gloria Ruth Staats, and Sherry Sue (Coughenour) Stutler and a nephew Robert “Bob” Williams.
    He is survived by one sister Roma Howdyshell and half sister Aloha Keylor. Also surviving are nephews Delbert (Penny) Williams, Bill Williams, Jeremy Coughenour, and Joel Howdyshell all of Marietta and Robert (Sabrina) Staats and Joseph Staats of NJ, nieces Debi (Staats) Brack of NJ, Christie Williams of TN, Janelle Chidester of Marietta and Jennifer (Greg) Tackett of Byesville, along with several great nephews and nieces.
    Our family would like to thank the many care givers from the Montgomery & Garfield homes, that took care of Rex after his mother passed, with a special thanks to Georgia Dunn, Shanda Erb and Carla Miller.
