  • Edna Irene Dye

    Edna Irene Dye 92, of Marietta, passed away on May 13, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a long battle with dementia.
    She was born March 22, 1932 in Newport Township, a daughter of the late George Gale Petty Sr., and Ida Mae Noland Petty.
    Edna was a 1950 graduate of Newport High School. She worked at the BF Goodrich store on Putnam Street in Marietta for many years, then at the Marietta Tire and Appliance store and finally retiring from Ken Miller Supply, at least twice and possibly a third time. After retiring Edna and her sister Alice enjoyed traveling the country together. Edna liked to stay busy, enjoyed working in her yard and visiting with her neighbors.

  • Linda M. Shaffer

    Linda M. Shaffer, 72, of Marietta passed away at 10:12 am, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born August 8, 1951, in Wellsville, OH, a daughter of Ernest Holland and Nellie Connor Holland. Linda was a custodian for Marietta City Schools and attended the Nazarene Church.

  • Nancy Tullius

    Nancy Tullius, 76, passed away on May 11, 2024 at The Arbors of Marietta where she was a resident since January 2021. Nancy was born April 26, 1948 to the late Naomi Wagner Tullius.
    Nancy attended Marietta High School, graduating with the class of 1966. She was employed for many years at the Betsey Mills Club. She enjoyed travel, eating out and spending time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Marietta.

  • L. Jane Dickson Corbett

    L. Jane Dickson-Corbett, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 9th, 2024. She was born on July 4th, 1938, in Barlow, Ohio.
    Jane was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with her warm and welcoming nature. She was a dedicated member of various organizations, including the USAC Drivers Wives Association, a Girl Scouts Leader, the Catholic Women’s Club, the Marietta Boat Club, and OPERS. Her commitment to serving others was evident in her role as Director of Combined Charity at ODOT.
    She will be fondly remembered for her exceptional potato soup, strong work ethic, unforgettable personality, and infectious laugh. Jane had a gift for connecting with people and an uncanny ability to to trace a friend’s ancestry with ease.

  • Ronnelle “Nellie” Ann Valentine

    Ronnelle “Nellie” Ann Valentine (1958-2024) passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2024. She was a lifelong Ohio resident who spent her adult years living with others with developmental disabilities. Nellie enjoyed the past eight years in Marietta, Ohio residing in the ResCare Garfield Group Home and was an active participant of Wasco, Inc.

  • Helen Ozelle Leonhart

    Helen Ozelle Leonhart of Marietta went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2024. She was born February 19, 1932, to Meredith and Ozelle Spikes in Bellevue, Texas.
    She married Frank C. Leonhart, Jr. on February 22, 1949 and lived in Devola all her married life. She was a member of Putnam Congregational Church in Devola where she sang in the church choir, was a Trustee and Deaconess, served in the Flower Committee and Women’s Fellowship.

  • William Robert Borman

    William Robert Borman, 66, of Marietta, OH, passed away on May 5, 2024 at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville, OH. He was born at Marietta Memorial Hospital, May 23, 1957 to Bernice Baker Borman and Blufford Borman.
    William “Bill” attended Marietta High School where he graduated in 1975. He then went to the Air Force Academy in Denver, Colorado, then to be stationed at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. He served from 1986 to 1995 (approx.) during Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia as an ammo specialist. Sergeant William R. Borman received an honorable discharge. He also has a plaque in the War Bird Park, Myrtle Beach, SC, for serving.
