  • Cathey Sue Huffman

    Cathey Sue Huffman, 56, of Marietta passed away 11:58 pm, August 17, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born June 13, 1963 in Marietta. Cathey was a 1981 graduate of Marietta Christian School and had attended Appalachian Bible College. She had worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital for a number of years before leaving to work at Wal-Mart for 20 years. Cathey took early retirement so she could take care of her parents. She came to know the Lord as a church bus child and her witness inspired her parents followed her to the Lord. Cathey was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church where she was an active member and enjoyed working with the church kids and she never me a stranger.

  • Barry Timmons Brown, Sr.

    On Tuesday, August 13th Barry Brown, Sr. 80, of Belpre, Ohio answered the call of his beloved Lord as he called this good and faithful servant home. With his wife, Helen of 59 years, his 4 sons and 2 sisters, plus other friends and family at his side, he started his journey that he had prepared for all his life.
    Barry entered this world on July 19, 1939, the 6th son and 9th child of the 10 children born to Clara and Valdred D. Brown, Sr. He is greeted in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Nada B. Smith and Nina L. Brown and brothers, Lloyd H., Vernon P., Donald G., Valdred D. Jr., and Stephen T.
    Barry graduated from PHS in 1957, where he played football and developed a lifetime love of the game. He worked at several jobs before joining Dupont as an mechanic’s apprentice. He worked there for 31 years, until his retirement on December 31, 1993.

    Junior Swick, 80, of Fleming passed away at 4:30 pm on Monday, August 12, 2019, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1939, in Petersburg, WV, a son of Evers and Pauline Delawder Swick.
    Junior worked at AGA Gas for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He attended Warren Chapel Church.

    William “Bill” H Russell, 89, of Marietta passed away 6:41 am, August 9, 2019 at Harmar Place in Marietta.
    Bill was born August 14, 1929 in Springfield Ohio to Leslie S. and Annabel (Shoaf) Russell. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from the National Guard. He served as assistant magistrate in Parkersburg WV.

    Ernest W. Wittekind, 73, of Belpre passed away at 3:15 am, Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born March 15, 1946, in Boaz, WV, a son of Everett and Martha Jean Poling Wittekind.
    Ernest had been employed as an electrician at Union Carbide and on the Belpre Toll Bridge. He was a member of Warehouse Church in Parkersburg. He enjoyed deer hunting and motorcycle riding and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
