    Justin was born at Marietta Memorial Hospital on August 30, 1989. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 2008. Justin was a caring big hearted soul who was loved by everyone.

  • Frederick G. Voshel

    Frederick G. Voshel, 78, of Williamstown passed away at 10:30 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Cedar Grove in Parkersburg.
    He was born June 12, 1941, in Marietta a son of the late James William Voshel and Leora Waterman Voshel.
    Fred was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Marietta First Baptist Church. He owned and operated Voshel’s Furniture and Auction Service. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed Nascar.

  • John D. Armor, Sr.

    John D. Armor, Sr., 98, of Marietta retired from his service on earth October 30, 2019. Born February 1, 1921, he was a son of the late Louis H. Armor, Sr. and Nelle Veon Armor.
    John was a member of the American Legion Post 64, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 and the Masonic Lodge. He served with the Marine Corp during World War II as Private First Class (1941-1946) then retired from the U. S. Army Reserves Engineering Battalion as Master Sergeant. He worked as an Engineer with Monongahela Power retiring in 1985.

  • Elmer Perry, Sr.

    Elmer Perry, Sr., 93, of Marietta died peacefully on October 29, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. He was born September 1, 1926 to Jay S and Marie (Koskondy) Perry in Ashtabula, OH.
    Elmer was a WWII veteran, PFC, who fought in the Pacific Theatre with the Army 25th Infantry Division in Nagoya & Maizuru, Japan. He had many occupations over the course of his life including general aviation pilot, truck driver, school bus mechanic, Snap-on Tool man, and ultimately retired from FMC Corporation as a machinist. In 1971 he moved the family across country to Pacifica, CA to join his father in business. He and his wife retired to Santa Maria CA in 1992 and they returned to Ohio in 2005 to be close to family. Elmer was an avid gun enthusiast – enjoyed buying, selling and trading at local gun shows, a member of Santa Maria Gun Club and Marietta Gun Club, lifetime member of the NRA Golden Eagles, and member of American Legion. He loved watching his favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers, reading and watching old westerns, especially John Wayne and was a Ford man for life. He will be remembered for his twinkling blue eyes and his smile.
    In 1948 Elmer married Angelina Capadona who preceded him in death.
    Surviving are their children: Barbara (Ray) Kujawski, Alison Fast, Christine Caperton, Elmer Perry Jr, and Diana (Rob) McGrew; grandchildren: Tracy (Craig) Baranowski, Kelly Caperton, Daniel McGrew, and Joseph (Kayla) McGrew; and great grandchildren: Peyton and Portia Baranowski, Silas and Dean McGrew, and Julian and Christopher Caperton. A brother Carl Perry and sister Bonnie (nee McMullen) Delponte also survive him.

    Dorothy L. House, 75, of Fleming passed away at 11:11 pm, Monday, October 28, 2019, at her home. She was born March 10, 1944, in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late William Henry and Ruby Pearl Pitts Greathouse.
    Dorothy enjoyed farm animals and especially her cats. She loved to garden and attend her flowers.
    On December 27, 1961, she married Paul E. House who preceded her in death on December 12, 2013.

    Carolyn J. Farmer, 65, of Marietta went to be with the Lord at 3:05am, Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born July 3, 1954, in Dallas, Texas a daughter of Hershall E. and Goldie Piggot Aaron.
    Carolyn was employed by Fairfield Inn and attended Open Door Baptist church. She is survived by husband of 35 years, Terry Farmer.
    At her request, she will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. The family would appreciate donations to McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

  • Sarah J. Stewart

    Sarah J. Stewart, 75, of Marietta passed away 2:18 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born April 14, 1944 in Newark, Ohio to the late Thomas Joseph and Mary (Rauch) Hannigan. She was a graduate of Middleport High School, a 1983 graduate of Ohio University Magna Cum Laude. She worked at Ohio University as Administrative Secretary to the Dean of the School of Journalism and was Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Arts and Sciences when she left Ohio University.
