Roger L. French, 85, of Marietta passed away at 2:45 am, Monday, July 29, 2019. He was born June 19, 1934, in Marietta a son of Laurence French and Audrey Matheny Sewell.
Roger was employed by B. F. Goodrich Company in the United States and Canada until his retirement. He was a member of Army National Guard and a member of Masonic Lodge #390.
Charlotte Lois Scott Elliott, 96, of Devola in Marietta passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at her home.
Charlotte was born on May 26,1923 in Marietta Ohio, the 3rd child and only daughter of Wallace and Harriett (Davis) Scott. She attended school in Marietta, Columbus, and Gallipolis Ohio. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied band, orchestra and vocal groups. She graduated from Gallia Academy and Holzer Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse and was active in Kappa Delta sorority.
Anna Ward, 86, of Lower Salem passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at The Arbors of Marietta.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Barbara Catherine McClain Campbell, 74, of Reno, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 26, 2019, at home surrounded by her family, after a one-year battle with cancer.Barb was born on January 5, 1945, in Sugar Camp, West Virginia, to Ira and Myra McClain.
Barb had worked for Walmart for 20 years in customer service, until her illness forced her to retire. She was a member of Souls Harbor Baptist Church. Barb truly loved her family and friends. The true highlights of her life were her grandchildren.
Eloise C. Dennis, 79, of Marietta passed away at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 26, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born March 11, 1940, in Sandyville, WV, a daughter of Homer Rumbold and Ada Armstrong Rumbold Stark.
Eloise was a homemaker and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was married to Franklin D. Dennis who preceded her in death.
Dorothea Margaret Summerville, 83, of Marietta passed away at 6:17 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 3, 1935, on Long Island, New York to Charles R. Miller, Jr. and Jane Alexander Miller.
On September 7, 1957, Dorothea was married to Eugene Summerville, who preceded her in death in 1989. She had been employed by Marietta City School as a bus driver for 26 years. Dorothea loved her grandchildren, flower gardening, bowling, Steeler football, Nascar racing and her cherished pets, Lucy and Holly.
Iris J. Treadway, 68, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away at 3:57 am, Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on November 2, 1950, in Marietta a daughter of Ora Edward and Ruby E. Stamper Treadway. Iris was a driver for Treadway Mail Service and later was employed at Marietta City School System. She was known by many and loved by all.
