    John R. Wright, 84, of Beverly, OH passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He was born August 2, 1934, in Marietta, Ohio to Robert Wright and Mary (Becker) Wright.
    He was a member of the Beverly Baptist Church. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. He worked as a police officer for the Marietta Police Department and retired as an Electrical Engineer from RJF.

    Larry D. Goodwin, 71, of Marietta passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at his home. He was born November 1, 1947, in Marietta a son of Chester R. and Effie Johnson Goodwin.
    Larry attended Marietta High School and was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post 5108 and DAV. He was a Cleveland sports fan.

    Carman E. Seevers, 82, of Marietta, passed away June 30, 2019 at Hickory Creek of Athens at The Plains.
    She was born March 28, 1937 in Washington County to Pearl and Florence (Wendelken) Biehl. She had been employed as a clerk for Parmar and a caregiver for Comfort Keepers. Carman was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed by many.

    Roy E. Barnes, 94, of Marietta passed away at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Harmar Place. He was born June 12, 1925, in Marietta a son of Roy E. and Emma Bodmar Barnes, Sr.
    Roy was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in WWII in the 2nd Armored Division in North Africa and Italy from 1942 to 1944. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had been employed at Crescent Supply and Smith & Phillips Furniture Store.

    James Harold Hill, 60, of Parkersburg, WV, formerly of Marietta, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was born in Marietta on August 13, 1958, a son of Billy Eugene and Bertha Louise Danner Hill.
    Jim was employed by B. F. Goodrich, aka RJF, aka Profusion for 42 years as an operator. He was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1977. He was a member of Marietta Moose Lodge 1823 and a member of Freedom Gate Church. Jim enjoyed watching sports and dancing and spending time with family.

  • Ireta F. Copen

    Ireta Fay (Ridenour) Copen went to her Heavenly home on June 28, 2019.
    She was born in Mansfield, Ohio on March 31, 1935 to Charles Edgar and Jewell Fay (Williams) Ridenour. She moved to Vienna, WV in 1945 where she lived until she was married on October 4, 1970 to John W. Copen and lived in Marietta, Ohio.
    She graduated from Parkersburg High School class of 1953 and later went to Shenandoah College in Virginia for about one and a half years. She worked for Dils Department Store in Parkersburg. She loved to do crafts, scrap booking, play on the computer and was an avid reader and prayed for those in need. She was a very outgoing, beautiful lady and loved to make people laugh.
