Dorothea Margaret Summerville, 83, of Marietta passed away at 6:17 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 3, 1935, on Long Island, New York to Charles R. Miller, Jr. and Jane Alexander Miller.
On September 7, 1957, Dorothea was married to Eugene Summerville, who preceded her in death in 1989. She had been employed by Marietta City School as a bus driver for 26 years. Dorothea loved her grandchildren, flower gardening, bowling, Steeler football, Nascar racing and her cherished pets, Lucy and Holly.
Iris J. Treadway, 68, of Lowell, Ohio, passed away at 3:57 am, Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born on November 2, 1950, in Marietta a daughter of Ora Edward and Ruby E. Stamper Treadway. Iris was a driver for Treadway Mail Service and later was employed at Marietta City School System. She was known by many and loved by all.
Charles Allen Reuse, 78, of Lower Salem, Oh, passed away at 9:19 am, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Summit Acres in Caldwell.
He was born August 6, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of John and Elizabeth Reuse. He was a veteran of U. S. Army serving in Vietnam and enjoyed his career as a truck driver.
Ronald Gale Tidd, 72, of Newport passed away at 5:00 am, Saturday, July 13, 2019, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus with his family at his side.
He was born January 20, 1947, in Newport to Clyde Raymond Tidd and Mary Gail Duffy Tidd. Ron was employed at Par Mar Oil Company for 41 years.
John C. Cox, 67, of Marietta passed away at 8:25 am, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Harvey Cox and Ruth Patterson of Marietta.
John was employed by the Marietta Police Department for 5 years and later employed by AEP as a lineman. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and loved his dogs and his Daisy Dukes.
Helen Duff Robinson, 86, of Pleasant Ridge passed away July 11, 2019, at Harmar Place with her family at her side. She was born July 28, 1932, in Washington County to Ottmire and Margaret Jane Kitts Duff.
On July 7, 1955, she married Raymond A. Robinson, Sr. who preceded her in death on October 7, 1998. Helen had worked at various restaurants in the area including Broughton’s and The Hill Top. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 5108 and was a past member of the Fearing Volunteer Fire Department that she helped organize. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed watching her hummingbirds.
Ruby Ellen Carpenter, 89 of Marietta, pass away July 8, 2019 at Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville. She was born March 13, 1930 in Bristol, WV to Virgil and Mary (Haddix) Furner.
Ruby was married to John R. Carpenter who preceded her in death May 27, 1993.
