    Martha Naomi Hunter, 92 of Marietta, Ohio died at her home on September 17, 2018. She was the daughter of Flavius and Winifred Shutts Ash.

  • Frank C. Leonhart, Jr.

    Frank C. Leonhart, Jr., 93, of Marietta went to be home with the Lord on Thursday, September 13, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born March 22, 1925, in Lowell, a son of Frank C. and Estella Stevens Leonhart.
    He graduated from Lowell High School in May 1943. He served in the Navy Seabees enlisting in July 1943 and spent 3 years in the South Pacific. He was also a member of the local Coast Guard Auxiliary.
    He retired from the B.F. Goodrich Co. with 40 years of service. He also worked for the Putnam Community Water Association for 22 years as a meter reader and was employed by the Marietta City School Board part time. He was a member of the Putnam Congregational Church having served on the trustee board and as the church custodian for over 20 years. His hobbies included boating, traveling and gardening.

    John Michael Belleville, 35, of Marietta passed away at 7:40 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2018. He was born August 18, 1983, in Marietta to Lewis Allen Belleville and Diane Sue Warne Losch.
    John Michael graduated from Marietta High School and was employed at McDonald’s of Marietta and Marietta Harbor. He is survived by his mother, Diane Losch of Kokomo, IN, step father Charles L. Losch of Kokomo, brother Bruce Dennis, Jr. of New Orleans, LA; 2 sisters, Melissa Gregg of Parkersburg and Billia Farley of Marietta.

    Edna Mae Place, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born on August 3, 1940 in Barlow, OH, a daughter of Chester C. and Juanita C. Wenzel Greenlees.
    On May 28, 1956, she married Delmar “Sonny” Place who preceded her in death on November 26, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Earl Dean Greenlees, grandson Jeremy Lee Place, mother-in-law Bernice Sealey Place Pickering and several aunts and uncles.

  • David “Dave” Paxton

    David “Dave” Paxton, 76, of Newport passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1942, in Walton, WV, a son of Willis Owen Paxton and Dorothy Eloise Looney Paxton.
    Dave attended Walton High School and graduate from Lower Salem High School in 1962. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Dave was employed as a truck driver for Haessly Lumber and as a manager for Inland Wood Products for 39 ½ years. He enjoyed working on cars and mowing the yard, but loved going to auctions and playing softball. He attended First Presbyterian Church of New Matamoras.

    Ethel L. Hendershot, 86, of Jaycee Estates passed away at 7:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born April 11, 1932, in Washington County, Ohio, to Pearl Goodwill and Anna Mae Addlesburger Goodwill.
    Ethel has been employed at Marietta Fruit Package and Lumber Company and also at Heartland of Marietta. She was a member of the Sixth and Washington Street Church of Christ.
