  • Helen Duff Robinson

    Helen Duff Robinson, 86, of Pleasant Ridge passed away July 11, 2019, at Harmar Place with her family at her side. She was born July 28, 1932, in Washington County to Ottmire and Margaret Jane Kitts Duff.
    On July 7, 1955, she married Raymond A. Robinson, Sr. who preceded her in death on October 7, 1998.  Helen had worked at various restaurants in the area including Broughton’s and The Hill Top. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post 5108 and was a past member of the Fearing Volunteer Fire Department that she helped organize. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed watching her hummingbirds.

  • Ruby Ellen Carpenter

    Ruby Ellen Carpenter, 89 of Marietta, pass away July 8, 2019 at Arcadia Nursing Home in Coolville. She was born March 13, 1930 in Bristol, WV to Virgil and Mary (Haddix) Furner.
    Ruby was married to John R. Carpenter who preceded her in death May 27, 1993.

  • Dr. Phyllis Baker

    Dr. Phyllis Baker died peacefully Monday morning July 8th 2019 with her beloved husband of 68 years, Lawrence Emerson (Larry) Baker, at her side. Phyllis passed in the comfort of her home in Devola where for the last four years Larry had lovingly cared for her surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature that brought them both so much joy.
    Phyllis was born in Point Pleasant West Virginia and moved to Ohio as a young girl where she attended school in New Matamoras. She was blessed to meet her soul mate Larry at an early age and pursue her life goals with a loving and supportive partner. Her love of learning led her to obtain three degrees beginning with a Bachelors degree from Marietta College, followed by her Masters from Ohio University, and ultimately her PhD from The Ohio State University. Along the way her work led her to impact many lives as she mentored and encouraged others to pursue their life long learning dreams.

    Patty J. Barth, 84, of Waterford passed away 2:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2019 at Harmar Place. She was born June 10, 1935 in Parkersburg to Leonard and Leverna Trier Brown. Patty was employed at the Lafayette Hotel and was a member of the Marietta Celebration Center.

  • John R. Wright

    John R. Wright, 84, of Beverly, OH passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. He was born August 2, 1934, in Marietta, Ohio to Robert Wright and Mary (Becker) Wright.
    He was a member of the Beverly Baptist Church. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. He worked as a police officer for the Marietta Police Department and retired as an Electrical Engineer from RJF.

    Larry D. Goodwin, 71, of Marietta passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at his home. He was born November 1, 1947, in Marietta a son of Chester R. and Effie Johnson Goodwin.
    Larry attended Marietta High School and was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post 5108 and DAV. He was a Cleveland sports fan.

    Carman E. Seevers, 82, of Marietta, passed away June 30, 2019 at Hickory Creek of Athens at The Plains.
    She was born March 28, 1937 in Washington County to Pearl and Florence (Wendelken) Biehl. She had been employed as a clerk for Parmar and a caregiver for Comfort Keepers. Carman was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed by many.
