    Robert L. Brown, 87 of Marietta (203 Brittigan Circle) passed Thursday evening, Feb. 29, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    He was born on February 27, 1937 and had been employed at Morrison Refrigeration. He was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church.

  • Fred Taylor, Sr.

    Fred Taylor, Sr., 83, of Marietta passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1940, to the late Clinton and Georgia Dearth Taylor of St. Marys, WV.
    He is survived by his long time companion, Lori Taylor of Marietta, two sons: Steve Taylor (Marcia) of NC and Freddy Scarbrough (Stephanie) of Marietta; four daughters: Carla Miller of Marietta, Tammy Taylor of Lowell, Patty Best (Wid) of Marietta and Crystal Reynolds of Marietta and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

  • James Edward “Jim” Kuroski

    James (Jim) Edward Kuroski Sr, 85 of Marietta, OH, passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2024. He was born in Farmington WV, July 10, 1938, and lived in Fairmont WV before moving to Marietta, OH in 1968. Jim was a graduate of East Side Fairmont High School where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. In 1950 he was on the first Little League All Star Baseball All State team advancing to the State Championship. At East Side Fairmont High School Jim was a pitcher and infielder, considered one of the best pitchers in his time.

  • Franklin “Frank” Chidester

    Franklin “Frank” Chidester, 73, of Marietta passed away February 19, 2024 in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    He was born in Marietta on December 27, 1950 to Kenneth Forrest and Ruth Naomi (Burns) Chidester, Sr. Frank was a Marietta High School graduate and had served in the Ohio National Guard. He worked numerous jobs throughout the years until he was injured. Frank liked shooting pool and traveling out west and he really loved his fur babies.

  • Eloise F. White

    Eloise F. White, 98, formerly of Vincent, OH, passed away at 9:25pm, Friday, February 16, 2024 at the home of her daughter. She was born March 23, 1925 in Lowell, OH, a daughter of Joseph H. Burke, Sr. and Vesta Chandler Burke.
    Eloise graduated from Lowell High School. She joined the Woman’s Air Corps in 1945 and was the first woman of color from Washington County to join the military. While in the military, she met her husband Edward T. White who was a Major in the U. S. Air Force.

  • Georgia Cunningham

    Georgia Cunningham, 86, of Lowell, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 at Waterview Pointe Nursing home with family at her side. She was born July 25, 1937 to the late George G. Jr and Martha Padgitt in Marietta, Ohio. Georgia always went by the name “Sis”. She always told the story she didn’t know her name was Georgia till third grade when her teacher told her. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1955. During high school she worked at the Colony Cinema and the Merryland pool at the Washington county Fairgrounds. After graduation Georgia worked at Remington Rand, where she remained for 27 years until retirement.
    Georgia loved living near the river in Lowell where she enjoyed riding on her pontoon boat. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, quilting, motorcycling, camping, bowling and spending time with family

    Linda Ruth Schmitt, 78, of Marietta passed at 9:59 pm, on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born on September 9, 1945, in Middletown, Ohio to Verley L. Treadway and Laura E. Dietz Treadway. Linda’s main love was being a mother and homemaker. She had owned and operated a sewing shop in Waterford and had been a police dispatcher in Beverly.
