Gailey Alvin Henderson, 97, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his home. He was born August 11, 1927, in Roane County, West Virginia a son of John M. Henderson and Tressie Mae Summers Henderson.
Gailey joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served the duration of the War and upon his return he returned to school and graduated from Doddridge County High School in 1947. He had worked for Shell Chemical in Belpre, was one of their first employees, and he retired in 1984. He volunteered on the Appalachian Trail and had received a 1000 Hours Award. His hobby was attending auctions and collecting antique tools and gas engines. He could always be found at antique engine shows with his tool display, “What Is It and What Does It Do?”
Galen LeRoy McCarty, 80, of Marietta passed away at 5:36 pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Brenda Kay Long, 64, of Fleming, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1959, in Marietta a daughter of Roman Erb and Marjorie Martin Erb.
Brenda was employed as a Corrections Officer and had been a Dietary Nutritionist at Selby General Hospital.
Ernest O. Arnold, 76, of Marietta passed away on at 8:20 am, Monday, September 30, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Ernest was born on March 9, 1948, in Marietta a son of the late Orvin J. and Mabel Stauch Arnold. He had been employed by Union Carbide/Eramet and Hartline Dairy Farm.

Theodore “Ted” Lee DeWitt, Jr., 70, of Marietta passed away at 11:20 am, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Ted was born on June 16, 1954, in Marietta a son of Theodore L. DeWitt, Sr. and Ruth A. White DeWitt. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of The Assumption.
Donna Jean Betts, 91, of Whipple died peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024.
She lived near Marietta her entire life, being raised in Norwood and then always living near Stanleyville. She was a woman of varying interests and dedications over the years. She always wore her trademark black Stetson hat.
Ruth Ellen Iddings Hall, 77, of State Route 26, Marietta, Ohio, passed peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Ruth, the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Audrey Iddings, of Marietta, Ohio, was born on November 26, 1946 in St. Clairsville, Ohio. She lived on the Iddings Farm Dairy until she was 13 years old when she and her parents moved to New Matamoras, Ohio. They owned the Ben Franklin store there. She graduated from Stover High School (New Matamoras, Ohio) in 1964 and Kent State University in 1969.
