    Betty Carol Gaskins, 96, of Marietta passed away at 1:15 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at The Arbors.
    She was born September 10, 1927, in Braxton County, WV, daughter of James Young and Rebecca Bell Stalnaker Young. Betty had been employed at Marietta Memorial Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide.

  • Ronzel Shawver

     
    Ronzel Shawver, 64, Williamstown passed away March 8 as a result of complications from bladder cancer.
    Ronzel graduated from Williamstown High School. After a brief stint in the military, Ronzel worked in management positions for Nobil Shoes in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and in management positions for Domino’s Pizza in the Marietta, Parkersburg, and Ashtabula areas. He later moved back to West Virginia and worked for Custom Applicators.

    Angela R. McElfresh, 61, of Marietta passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Riverside Methodist in Columbus surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
    She was born on September 3, 1962, in Sardis, Ohio, a daughter of Ella Blair Hanson. She graduated from Warren High School. Angela enjoyed collecting Indian items and watermelon items. She loved her kids and grandkids and had a “big heart.” She had a lot of friends that she loved and were a big part of her life.

  • Jeanette Louise Barker

     
     
    Jeanette Louise Barker, 90, of 623 Virginia St. passed away at 10:17 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was the last survivor of ten children. Ms. Barker was born on December 5, 1933 in Cleveland, OH to Valmond, Sr. and Gladys (Thomas) Barker. She worked for many years as a secretary for Evenflo and Flood Company. Ms. Barker never married and never had children, however she had great pleasure in being an aunt, a great aunt and a great, great aunt. There was never a dull moment around Jeanette/ Aunt Jeanette/ AJ/ Aunt Jay/ Nanettles.

    Sharon L. Wilson, 80, of Lowell, passed away at 1:15am, Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Legacy of Marietta.
    She was born May 23, 1943, in Washington County a daughter of Merle Carpenter and Reva Wittke Carpenter. Sharon retired as a bookkeeper from Weiser & Cawley Furniture.

  • Sandra Lee Lathey Cokeley

    Sandra Lee Lathey Cokeley departed earth for her Heavenly home March 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. She was born May 13, 1939, in Tyler County, WV, to Harry Clark Lathey and Garnet Sheets Lathey. She was a 1957 graduate of Sistersville High School, and married the love of her life Gene Cokeley on April 11, 1958.
    Sandra worked hard all her life and enjoyed living on the farm. She loved her Lord and Savior, her family, church, neighbors and friends. She was an outstanding wife, mother, cook, homemaker, alto singer, and a godly example for others. Sandra was a member of Willow Island Baptist Church.
