    Rena Marie Friend, 74, beloved wife and mother, from Marietta, Ohio, ascended to the loving arms of Jesus on May 19th, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a courageous and hard-fought 18 month battle with cancer. She was born May 6th, 1950 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Rosemarie and Carl Cassady and was raised in Williamstown, WV.

  • Frederick M. Wells, Jr.

    Frederick M. Wells, Jr. of Whipple, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in his sleep at his home. He was born September 23, 1947, in Sayre, PA to Evelyn Fowler Wells and Frederick Wells.
    He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church where he was a Trustee. He was also a member of the Carpenter’s Local 356 Union of Marietta for 50 years. He liked to hunt, fish, travel, garden and attend auctions. He also enjoyed listening or singing Elvis Presley songs and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan.

    Edna Irene Dye 92, of Marietta, passed away on May 13, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a long battle with dementia.
    She was born March 22, 1932 in Newport Township, a daughter of the late George Gale Petty Sr., and Ida Mae Noland Petty.
    Edna was a 1950 graduate of Newport High School. She worked at the BF Goodrich store on Putnam Street in Marietta for many years, then at the Marietta Tire and Appliance store and finally retiring from Ken Miller Supply, at least twice and possibly a third time. After retiring Edna and her sister Alice enjoyed traveling the country together. Edna liked to stay busy, enjoyed working in her yard and visiting with her neighbors.

    Nancy Tullius, 76, passed away on May 11, 2024 at The Arbors of Marietta where she was a resident since January 2021. Nancy was born April 26, 1948 to the late Naomi Wagner Tullius.
    Nancy attended Marietta High School, graduating with the class of 1966. She was employed for many years at the Betsey Mills Club. She enjoyed travel, eating out and spending time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Marietta.
