  • Lloyd Ellis Crum

    Lloyd Ellis Crum, 79, of Marietta, Ohio passed away, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 30, 1944, in Marietta, Ohio to the late Dale and Ruth Smith Crum.
    Lloyd graduated from Marietta High School in 1962. He worked at Fenton Art Glass, Sears, and retired after 25 years as a Bus Driver for Marietta City Schools. Lloyd, alongside his wife Rita, was the owner and operator of Crum Fence and Excavating for over 40 years. After decades of installing fences, he invented and patented the Fence Hog in 1998. In the wintertime, he plowed snow for area businesses and individuals. He was able to fix anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
    He was a faithful member of The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Assumption where he was a formerly Parish Council Member. He was a member of the K of C Council 478 where he was a former Grand Knight. He was a former Marietta Band Booster, where he was one of the equipment bus drivers. In his free time, Lloyd enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, golfing, and camping at his family farm where he had many long walks and adventures with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa.

  • Tina Congleton

    Tina Congleton, 56, of Lancaster passed away at Fairfield Medical Center on October 31, 2023.
    Tina was born on April 7, 1967, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of Oria Blaine Simmons, Jr. and Charlotte Mae Haines Simmons. She was a homemaker.
    On April 19, 1998, she married Keith Congleton who survives with children: Joshua Tonkin, Adam Tonkin, and Brent Congleton and brother, Jimmy (Bobbi) Simmons; 2 nieces, Lauryn and Jordyn Simmons and step-mother, Beth Simmons. She was preceded in death by her father.

    Regina Rae Dye, 70 of Caldwell, OH, passed away at 9:28 pm, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge.
    She was born March 3, 1953 in Canton, OH a daughter of Genevieve Donahue and Delva John Lightfritz, Sr. Regina had worked as a waitress.

  • William Earl “Bill” Hathaway

    William Earl (Bill) Hathaway died on October 25, 2023 at his home in Crosby, Texas surrounded by his family.
    Bill was born on July 6, 1943 in Marietta, Ohio to Dorothy Pryor and Luther Windsor Hathaway. Bill graduated from Marietta High School with the class of 1962. He attended Bethany College and Marietta College. He worked for Forma Scientific, WBRJ Radio, the City of Marietta as development director and Broughton Foods Company before starting his own business, Sir Speedy Printing/ Pressmark.
    Bill was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church where he had served on its Parish Council, sang in their adult choir and the Resurrection Choir. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crosby, TX. Bill sang tenor in the Sternwheel Barbershop Quartet for 45 years. He was also director of the Treblemakers Chorus in Parkersburg, WV. Bill loved to play golf with his buddies and was a member of both the Marietta and Parkersburg Country Clubs.

  • Georgia Caplinger

    Georgia Caplinger, 75, of Marietta passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her home. She was born January 30, 1948, in Little Hocking OH, a daughter of William Henry and Hazel Wires McGrew.
    Georgia had been employed at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and loved working on genealogy. She loved playing cards at the O’Neil Center and just being with people. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church and the Washington County Genealogy Society.

    Gary Dean Blair, 77, passed into the arms of Jesus at 9:10am on Thursday October 12th, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1946 to John and Mildred Blair in Marietta, Ohio.
    On October 6, 1966 he married A. Kay Sparks Blair and they have 2 children, Jeff and Suzanne Blair. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Letha, Samie Ann and Tucker Blair. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Summer Higgins Blair and one brother Ronald Blair. Two brothers preceded him in death, Robert M Blair and Robert Blair.

    Carma Lou Hill Board, 88, of Newport went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2023, at Ohio Health Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus, OH. She was born on November 11, 1934 in Powhatan Point, OH a daughter of the late Walter Francis and Lela Luella Duvall Hill.
    Carma was a long time member of the Marietta Bible Center Church and thought a lot of Pastor Myron and Linda Guiler. She was a beautician for 38 years and loved her profession very much. She had many close friends and loved them also.
