  • Lucas Scott McVicar

    Lucas Scott McVicar, 22, of Marietta passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
    Lucas was born in Marietta on May 6, 2001 a son of Scott and Ellen (Bonnette) McVicar. He was a 2019 graduate of Marietta High School. During high school Lucas worked for Giant Eagle, and after graduation worked for Promanco before going to work for Ascent Resources as an I & E Tech. Lucas enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Flight Simulator, jet skiing, camp fires with his friends, going to concerts, driving his tractor and making deer jerky. He enjoyed repairing and reselling guns, working with his hands and fixing things and making people laugh. He loved his dogs: Casey, Bailey and Winston and spending time with his family and his girlfriend, Courtney and her family. Lucas took pride in caring for his truck, home and his country.

  • Jennifer L. Biddle

    Jennifer L. Biddle, 69, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home. She was born on July 9, 1954 in Marietta a daughter of Samuel Lee Biddle and Irene Mangold Biddle.
    Jennifer was a graduate of Williamstown High School and was employed at the Biddle Tomato Farm.

  • Joseph Mark Fliehman

    Joseph Mark Fliehman, 81, of Marietta passed away at 9:10pm, Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home. He was born December 17, 1942 in Germantown, OH, a son of Kelton R. Fliehman and Frieda C. Pitzer Fliehman.
    Joseph served in the U. S. Army. He retired after 32 years as an electrician from DuPont Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Marietta Shrine Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elk 477, American Legion Post, VFW Post 5108, and Marietta Moose Lodge.

  • Eugene Harold Zimmer

    Eugene Harold Zimmer, 89, of Belpre passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Marietta on November 9, 1934, a son of the late Harold and Laura Zimmer.
    Eugene retired from Evonik in the early 2000’s. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Belpre Area Ministries.

  • Neil E. McDougal

    Neil E. McDougal, 89, of Marietta passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Elison Assisted Living. A quiet, humble man, Neil was born on May 23, 1934 in Bealsville, Ohio, to Erma (Reed) and Raymond McDougal.
    Neil was a graduate of Clarington High School and a 1956 graduate of Marietta College Phi Beta Kappa. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from Union Carbide where he was a Chemist and Laboratory Supervisor. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

    Carl Glen Morgan, 85, of Lowell, passed away on November 30, 2023 at Elison at Marietta.
    He was born on June 20, 1938 in Marietta to Floyd R and Katherine (Smith) Morgan. Carl was a 1956 graduate of Marietta High School and had served in the Ohio National Guard. He had been employed at the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Parkersburg before becoming a warehouse manager for 7up of Marietta.

  • Linda M. Greathouse

    We are devastated to announce the unexpected passing of Linda M. Greathouse-Carpenter. She left this world to join her beloved Dad on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the age of 54.
    Linda was born December 4, 1968, in Marietta a daughter of Marjorie A. Sparks and the late James L. Greathouse. She was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Madison “Maddie” and a sweet, beautiful grandson Calum. They were her everything, she loved them both with her whole heart and was so proud of Maddie. She was a devoted wife of John Carpenter, who she found her home with and loved unconditionally. Upon their marriage, she gained a bonus daughter, Maddie Carpenter, whom she also loved very much.
