    Charles William Benson, 65, of Warren Township, Marietta, passed away at his home at 3:53 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2009.
    He was born on February 20, 1944, in Newport a son of Charles C. Benson and Gertrude Matheny of Newport.   He was employed by Marietta Ignition.  He enjoyed caring for his dogs, rabbits, birds and loved all animals.

  • Lincoln Hess

    Lincoln Clarke Hess, 78, died on April 5, 2009, at Heartland of Marietta.  Born June 19, 1930, to the late Whitney and Barbara Bardill Hess, he had a happy childhood growing up in Marietta.  As a teenager he worked at the “Piplate”, the Hess’ family restaurant on 3rd Street and at school he played trumpet in the band and also lettered in track and football.
