    Carl Jones, of Concord, N.C., formerly of Marietta, Ohio, passed away of a long illness on Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2009).
    Carl was a U.S. Army and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a longstanding member of the American Legion Post 64 of Marietta, Ohio.
    Carl was a retired auto body mechanic and he loved old cars and auto racing himself, as well as watching his sons race.

    Grace E. Davis, 76, died at her home in Marietta at 8:00 am on Monday, September 7, 2009.
    She was born on August 19, 1933, to Russell and Ethol Devol.  She graduated with the Marietta High School Class of 1951.  She attended Baldwin-Wallace College.  After two years, she transferred to St. Lukes School of Nursing where she graduated with an RN degree in 1956.
