Lloyd R. Beardsley, 91, of Marietta passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 9, 1931 in Lowell a son of Thelma Beardsley Johnson.
He graduated from Lowell High School and served in the Army Reserve as a Sergeant until 1954 and in the Army National Guard until 1958. Lloyd started working at an early age and was an excellent mechanic. His first business was to go to local farms and buy produce to resale to wholesellers. He owned an auto repair shop in Lowell before going to work for Marietta Concrete selling silos and was later District Sales Manager for a steel building company. He was in demand for his sale skills and was an independent contractor who built houses.
Janet Coutermarsh, 73, of Marietta passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the Arbors of Marietta. She was born on September 16, 1949 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Stanley and Marie (Ritchie) Bennet, Sr. She was a homemaker who loved to play Bingo and work puzzle books.
Visitation will be held on Monday (Dec. 26) from 2 until 4 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation.
Betty Jean Born, 88, of Marietta went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at her home.
She was born on January 3, 1934 in Stanleyville to Gilbert Otto and Edna Caroline Grosklos Born. She graduated from Marietta High School with the Class of 1951 and attended Southland Bible Institute at Pikeville, Kentucky. She was an active member of Twin Rivers Baptist Church where she was a bus Captain and teacher of Cubbies and she enjoyed taking children to Awanas.
Robert Russell Becker, 57, of Marietta passed away suddenly on December 8, 2022. He was born in Marietta to Robert Larry and Kay (Dotson) Becker on October 15, 1965.
Bobby was a 1984 graduate of Marietta High School where he excelled in football, baseball and most importantly a friend to all. After high school he attended Ohio University and majored in business and had too many crazy stories to mention.
Following college, Bobby went to work at Marietta Industrial Enterprises where he worked for 5 years before taking a position with Globe Metallurgical in Beverly in 1993. He worked his way to the position of Head of Purchasing for all of North American Ferro Globe facilities.
Bobby was an avid bourbon collector and enjoyed telling everyone about the rare bottles he managed to procure. He once won a chance to purchase a very rare and sought after bottle of 23 year old Pappy Van Winkle. The catch was that he had to fly to Boise, ID to get it. He was so excited to have this chance and made it happen.
Bobby was a huge sports fan as well. He enjoyed watching football and baseball anytime he could catch a game in person or on TV. He was a loyal OSU fan …. “Go Bucks!” and loved the New York Yankees. His greatest love of all though, was his family.
Kristine Elizabeth Green, 75 of Marietta passed away at 6:51 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, OH.
She was born on November 25, 1947, in Bradford, PA and attended Marietta College, later working for Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a long distance operator.

Ricky Lewis, 67, of Belpre passed away at 8:20 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 8, 1955, in Chesapeake, OH a son of John and Sally Scaggs Lewis. Ricky was a painter.
Joyce A. Scott, 74 of Marietta passed away on December 02, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 22, 1948 to the late Raymond and Peggy(Webb) Salster. She had been at the Arbors at Marietta for the past few years.
