    Edward “Eddie” J. Thompson, Jr., 39, of Marietta, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2023. He was born to Edward and Lisa Thompson, Sr. on September 29, 1983.
    Eddie is survived by his mother, Lisa (Charles) Wilfong, his son Owen Thompson, his fiancé Sabine Killoran, sisters Mary (Skip) Spicer and Rachel (Cruz Horner) Thompson and step-brothers Wayne (Teri) Wilfong and Randy Wilfong. Also surviving are nieces Haven (Jamie) Frend, Tru Weppler, Jorja Weppler and Emma Horner.

    Larry Byers, 80, of Newport, Ohio, passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson’s disease Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
    He was born November 10, 1942, in Port Clinton, Ohio to Harris (Bud) and Margaret (Peg) Byers of Trail Run, Ohio in Monroe County. He attended Brownsville Grade School and graduated from River High School in 1960. Larry retired as an electrician from Ormet Corporation after 40 years, and was also employed by Benton Township. He was a current member of the Newport Church of Christ and previously a long-time resident of Brownsville, Ohio and a member of the Brownsville Church of Christ.

  • Shirley J. Greenlees

    Shirley J. Greenlees, 84, of Fleming went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023 surrounded by her family at home.
    She was born July 14, 1938 in Washington County, Ohio, a daughter of William and Mary Boice Adams.  Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Marietta High School.  She was a School Librarian for Warren Local Schools for 33 years.  She was also a member of OCCL for 50 years and a member of the Red Hats.
    On September 22, 1957, she married Dale E. Greenless who preceded her in death on August 31, 2018.

    Capt. Paul Shelton Snell, Jr. performed his last checklist, rolled down the runway and flew West, surrounded by his 4 children to meet his Lord on March 17, 2023. He was born on April 10, 1928 to Paul S. and Belle Lane Snell in Charlotte, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Paul Snell, and granddaughter Mary Cates Mervin.
    He is survived by his wife Jane Ann Snell of 46 years, his sister Pearl (Jobie) Spivey of Charleston, SC, daughters Dawn White (Herb) of Tappahannock, VA, Elaine Mervin (Gaillard) of Concord, NC , Paula Giugliano (Andy-dec) and sons David Snell, Pfafftown, NC, and Tyler Q. Snell of the home, a cousin Spencer Douglas of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Salem, Timmins, Kegan. Griffin and Isabelle Grace, and a host of fellow Piedmont pilots.
