    Virgil W. “Bill” Constable, 91, of Marietta passed away at 9:28 pm. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his home. He was born February 7, 1932 in Macksburg, OH a son of Ethel Coughenaur.
    He had been employed at Broughton Dairy, was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a member of VFW Post 5108.

    Gilbert “Gib” R. Jones, Jr., 61, of New Matamoras, OH passed away March 13, 2023 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    He was born January 15, 1962 in Barnesville to Gilbert R. and Patricia (Starkey) Jones, Sr. Gib was a laborer by trade and could do anything, which lead him to working in many different places. He loved hunting, fishing, antiques and flea marketing, both buying and selling.

    Clarence Edward “Eddie” Eichhorn, 86, of Marietta, Ohio died March 4, 2023 at MMH surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 15, 1936. He was the son of the late Charles L. “Pete” and Sarah Grace Spence Eichhorn.
    He was a graduate of Barlow Vincent High School class of 1955 and retired from Dupont.
    He was a member of Matamoras Masonic Lodge No. 374, F. A&M, and a member of the Marietta Moose Lodge 1823.

    Donald Eugene Brown, 88, of Marietta went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family at his home at 5:45 pm, Friday, March 3, 2023. He was born March 13, 1934 in Marietta the only son of Fred Brown and Leota Boswell Brown.
    He was a loving husband and father who always had a bright smile and a kind word for all. Don retired from Broughton Dairy after 32 years as a truck driver. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He attended Bethel Lighthouse Church. He enjoyed farming, especially bailing hay, and also loved being a vendor at swap meets for many years.

  • Mike S. Pekach

    Mike S. Pekach, 94, of Reno, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 28th at the home of his nephew and niece, Brad and Lorraine Simpson in New Richmond, Ohio.
    Mike was born on November 9, 1928 in Pursglove, WV, to Steve and Eva (Mayerac) Pekach. He graduated with 2 degrees in Education from West Virginia University. He was in the US Army and served in the Korean war. Mike had a long career in education which included many teaching and coaching positions.
    He was employed at Bellevue and LaRue High schools, was superintendent at both Conotton Valley and Harrison Hills School districts, and was the assistant principal at Marietta Jr. High School.

  • Ruth Eileen Williams Hollister

    Ruth Eileen Williams Hollister died February 25, 2023 at the age of ninety seven. She was born on March 16, 1925 in Graysville, Ohio to Glenn and Myrtle Williams. She was a graduate of Graysville High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the debate team.
    After graduation she moved to Marietta where she was employed at Montgomery Wards. It was then that she met the love of her life, Dunham Hollister. They were married at the Norwood Methodist Church on July 20, 1945. After their marriage, Ruth relished her chosen life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. Ruth and Dunham enjoyed a blessed and joyous life together until Dunham’s death in 2001.
