  • Christopher “Cody” Easter

    Christopher “Cody” Easter was born in Huntington, West Virginia on October 17, 1986.  He was born to David and Lisa Easter, Cody grew up in Indiana ,he played high school football, Cody loved music, especially the drums and guitar, even a little piano. He played drums in a band with a buddy (Matt Sumner) when he was 13. Then began playing at church in the praise band.
    Moving back to West Virginia when Cody was 16 was a hard time in his life but Cody found his passion. He tried college after graduation but decided he wanted to start his own car business. He married the love of his life, Mackenzie Suder Easter after Luke introduced them at youth and together they have successfully owned and operated Easter Brothers Preowned Cars in Vienna WV.
    Cody was involved in his brother Luke’s church and played drums for the praise band.
    Cody and Kenzie together faced many struggles with health issues but never did Cody give up, he was the strongest person and loyal to a fault.
    He loved cars and trucks and 4 wheelers and mud and trail riding and shooting guns and camping. Cody was a nature lover.

    He is survived by 2 sisters, Patty Huck of Zanesville and Elaine Arnold (David) of Lowell and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

    Dorothy A. Walker, 92, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Illinois and Florida, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 15, 1930, the daughter of William J. and Anna P. Dagon. Favorite hobbies included making crafts as well as singing in choirs, particularly the Marietta Senior Singers. She greatly enjoyed attending the O’Neill Center Adult Daycare.

    Lenore (Nodie) Harris Smith Schmal of Marietta went home to be with Jesus on Jan 23 2023 after a long illness.
    She attended Marietta City Schools and throughout her adult life she proudly worked a total of 49 jobs and loved each one of them. She never knew a stranger and loved life. Norie was born in Marietta on December 27, 1951 to Paul and Ruth Harris who along with 3 brothers Dave, Ron and Richard Harris and 1 Sister Rosemary Treadway preceded her in death.

  • Glenna R. Nichols

    Glenna R. Nichols, 92, former resident of Marietta passed away on January 19, 2023 in Homestead, Florida. She was born April 9, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio.
    On December 19, 1948, she married Dwight Oliver Nichols who preceded her in death on June 11 , 2013. She is survived by her daughter Rona Arlane (Paul) Slaboda and son Donald Alva Nichols; grandchildren: Penny Ann Slaboda (Jim Smith), Stephen Lewis Slaboda (Beth) and great grandchildren, Zoe and Myla. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sisters and one brother.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday (Feb. 13) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.
