  • Ellen Joan (Gerken) Heiss

    Ellen Joan (Gerken) Heiss, 84, of Marietta passed away on Sunday October 9, 2022 at her home.
    She was born January 20, 1938 to Elsie Goldie Berg Gerken and Ray William Gerken and lived in Whipple. She spent her early childhood in Cleveland and later Scio, Ohio for a few years before moving back to Whipple. In high school she worked at Goodie Sweet Shop until her graduation from Marietta High School in 1956. After graduation Ellen worked at Remington Rand. In 1959, she started renting property to others until 2004. Ellen had an amazing work ethic in all the endeavors she was involved. She always wanted to make a difference in others lives and was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption.

    Stephen James Hodge passed away on October 7th 2022. Born to Raymond Charles, and Nettie Sue (Randle) Hodge on December 28, 1950.
    He was a dedicated servant of the Lord. He is survived by his wife Celia; 2 children, Matt (Jessica) Hodge, and Kate (Tom) Fagan, and 17 grandchildren.

    Jeremy Neil Cassidy, 44 of Belpre, passed away at 10:07 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Camden Clark Hospital. He was born on September 30, 1978 in Marietta to Neil Cassidy and Joyce Nolen Kapple.
    Jeremy was employed by Stonebridge Oil Field Services . He was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1997, attended Washington County Career Center and was a member of MOVe Ministries. He was Assistant Fire Chief for Dunham Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mudding and helping others and was involved in his community.

    Jack was a devoted husband and father. He attended Gloucester, Claridon and Waterford schools. He lived most of his adult life in Washington County, OH. Jack enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, and studying birds and animals.
