  • Thelma Clark Scott

    Thelma Irene Clark Scott, 105, of Marietta went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
    She was born August 26, 1917, in Combs, WV a daughter of the late George Washington Clark and Tressa Jane McVay Clark. Thirteen brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
    Thelma was a devout Christian and well known for the beautiful quilts that she made. She fondly remembered having a quilt show for her 93rd birthday displaying 93 quilts. Over 400 people attended. It truly was a celebration of her legacy.

    Susan L Spicer-Adkins left our world Friday, September 2, 2022, surrounded by her family at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1959, to the late Harold and Mary Spicer, of Marietta.
    Susan was a Class of 1977 Marietta High School Graduate she was in band, choir and other clubs throughout her High School years. She was a Job’s Daughter, in her teen years.

  • Glen Lewis Antill

    Glen Lewis Antill, 84, of Marietta, went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2022, after a short bout with cancer.
    Glen was born on June 22, 1938 to John and Clara Antill of Wingett Run. Well known to the community, Glen worked at the Colegate Food Center for 55 years, having been the owner for the last 22 of those years. As well, he was a member and trustee of the Souls Harbor Baptist Church for 41 years.

    Gary G. Mincks, 64, of Marietta passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 1, 1957, in Marietta a son of Clayton Wayne and Mary Drumm Mincks.
    Gary was a graduate of Fort Frye High School and attended Muskingum College. He retired after 36 years of employment at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Production Assembler. He enjoyed outdoor activities (hunting, fishing, golf), music, puzzle books and traveling around the country.

    Leo O. Gandor went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 27, 2022, at home with his wife and children by his side.
    A long time resident of Marietta and a 1959 graduate of Marietta High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Dawn Glidden Gandor on October 29, 1962. Leo was born in Cabaiguan of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, in 1941, before arriving in Marietta in 1953. He loved this country and found it a great privilege to become a U. S. citizen.

  • William E. Ford

    William E. Ford, 99, of Marietta passed away at 1:10 am, Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born December 14, 1922, in Waterford, OH to Charles Dayton and Mary Helen Flowers Ford.
    He was a farmer and owned the first Woods Corn picker in Washington County and picked corn for anyone who needed help. He started hauling milk in 1938. Bill served in the Merchant Marines. He was one of the first members of the Devola Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Devola Zoning Board and was a member of Ohio State Milk Hauling Association.

  • Richard J. Henthorn

    Richard J. Henthorn, 83, of Fleming, Ohio, passed away at 9:25am, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his home. He was born January 8, 1939, in Marietta a son of Earl and Elizabeth Strauss Henthorn.
    Richard was a member of Pinehurst Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army (1958-1960) and owned and operated Twin Pines Dairy Farm. He worked for OSI and later worked for Ohio Valley Alloy Services. He was a member of Washington County Fair Board, Marietta Civitan Club and the Farm Bureau. His hobbies involved bowling, farming, Fox News and watching football.
