    On Tuesday Feb. 22, 2022 Violet Leora Long went to sleep on Earth and woke up in the arms of Jesus. She was born on March 11, 1930 in Marietta OH and lived there for 82 years before moving to Tallahassee to live with her daughter Debbie and her husband Cliff Caudill.
    Violet attended Marietta High School,. She was a rural delivery for Marietta Times and later owned and operated Klothers Kloset Consignment Shop on Greene Street for several years. She was affiliated with Marietta Bible Center and a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.

    Dale Steed Haught, 95, of Shay Ridge, New Matamoras went to be with his Lord while surrounded by his loving family on February 21, 2022, at Elison Assisted Living. He was born August 9, 1926 on Shay Ridge to James and Edith Tice Haught. His parents died when he was young and he was raised by Uncle Comer and Aunt Mary Haught.

    Richard Proctor, 85, of Barlow, Ohio went to his home in Heaven February 20, 2022. Richard was born October 29, 1936 in Barlow, a son of Frank and Grace Deming Proctor.
    Richard graduated from Vincent High School in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nelma Fortney Proctor, son Steve Proctor and sister Helen Adamson. He retired from DuPont after 35 years as an electrical instrument supervisor.

  • Melvyn “Gale” Pierpoint

    Melvyn “Gale” Pierpoint, 76, of Macksburg, OH passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022.
    Gale was born October 9, 1945, to Roy and Dorothy Pierpoint. He was a 1963 graduate of Marietta High School, a Vietnam Vet serving in the U.S. Air Force and member of Twin Rivers Baptist Church. He was an all-around Mr. Fix-It. He enjoyed building houses, repairing, and remodeling neighbors’ homes, woodworking, drawing and painting.

    Stacey Lynn Seevers Matheny, 54, of Waverly, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born March 26, 1967, in Riverside CA, to the late Richard Seevers and Edith Gage Seevers of Hawthorne, FL. She had been employed at Magnum Magnetics Corporation.

  • Juddson Dean Lewis, Sr.

    On February 15, 2022 Juddson Dean Lewis Sr aka “Spank” of Williamstown, WV, passed away from complications of a stroke. He was born November of 38 in New Martinsville, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen J. and Dorothy Knighton Lewis as well as his siblings Clarence, Frederick, Virginia and Earl Lewis and his granddaughter Shea Best.
    Juddson was formerly employed at Fenton Art Glass Company, Vadakin Inc., and CABOT Corporation.
    Spank was known for his ability to do just about anything with his hands. He was the family mechanic, builder, innovator and handyman. Over the years he used his talents at the First Church of the Nazarene to help with many projects especially in the children’s department.
    The man we knew wasn’t the same man dementia took. However, he retained his joy at seeing Sally and the kids and Lucy, the dog he didn’t know he wanted. He loved going to family dinner a couple of times a week and playing bingo. We could always depend on a hello and goodbye with a smile, kiss and a wink, even as he struggled with dementia.

    Shirley M. Lee, 79 of Marietta passed away at 8:13am, Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    Shirley was born on November 16, 1942, in Marietta a daughter of Forrest and Evelyn Rutherford Haught. She was employed at Kardex for 33 years and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
