  • Ronald Lee Casto

    Ronald Lee Casto, 86, of Marietta, died Monday, June 27, 2022, at Rockland Ridge in Belpre. He was born July 31, 1935 in Marietta to Arlie Darrell and Audrey Edith Orr Casto.
    He worked for more than 40 years at Marietta Ignition before retiring in 2001. Ronald enjoyed fishing with his sons, old Western movies, feeding the local squirrels and birds, gardening in the yard and tinkering around his garage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Casto on March 25, 2013.

  • Marla Jean Stewart Bills

    Marla Jean Bills (Stewart), 68, died at her home on June 22, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Born August 29, 1953 in Ripley, WV to Ruth and Claude Stewart. A graduate of Ripley High School, she attended Marshall University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in August 1975. She married her husband, Dr. Poncet Bills, that same month at Mount Zion Church near Peniel, WV. After graduation, she worked at St. Mary’s and VA Hospitals in Huntington, Greenbriar Hospital in Lewisburg, and an oncology office in Akron, OH. She moved to Marietta in 1987, where she worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital and did lab work for General Electric until 1992.

  • Mary Ellen Lerch (MeMe)

    Mary Ellen Lerch (MeMe), 94, died June 21, 2022. Our beloved MeMe was born in Columbus to Frank and Ellen Spear. In 1945 she married Richard Lerch who died in 1979. Also preceded in death by her daughter Susan Sargent, grandson Joshua Lerch, siblings, John and Pauline.
    An active Buckeye fan, MeMe is survived by children: Claudia Lamprecht, Julie Roush (Billy), Richard Lerch (Maureen Miner), son-in-law Michael Lamprecht. Also survived by grandchildren: Erin, Betsy, Nathan, Adam, Ben and Alex, many great grandchildren also survive, as well as siblings: Charlotte, Paul, Teresa and Betty.

    Sanford J. West, 66, of Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras, passed away on June 19, 2022. He was born January 4, 1956, in Marietta a son of Sanford and Geneva Brown West. He was employed as a carpenter.

  • William C. Dobbins

    William C. Dobbins, 85, of Marietta passed away, Sunday morning, June 12, 2022 at his home.
    He was born November 21, 1936, in Waterford a son of Rufus Glen Dobbins and Anna Alice Sherman Dobbins. Bill has been employed as a crane operator for Dravo/Connex at Marietta.

  • Billy Seevers

    Billy Eugene Seevers, 63, of Belpre passed away at 11:36 pm. Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital Belpre Campus.
    He was born December 22, 1958, in Newport, OH, to Gilber Uriah Seevers and Irene Benson Seevers. Billy was employed as a butcher for Pine Ridge Meat Processing for many years until ill health forced his retirement.

  • Patsy Hupp

    Patsy Hupp, 80 of Marietta, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born June 17, 1941 in Jackson County, W.Va., to the late Bernard and Helen (Neville) Roush. Patsy was an accountant, and after her retirement she spent her time as a volunteer doing tax returns for many people in our area. She loved spending time with her daughter and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
