Norman E. “Joe” Blauser, 84, of Marietta passed away at 6:06 pm., Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 15, 1940, in Oil City Pennsylvania a son of Sidney Blauser and Francis Felmlee Blauser.
Norm had worked in construction and was a drywaller. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being out of doors.
Melvin Lee Claypoole, 86, of Marietta passed away at 5:40 pm, Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born June 9, 1938, in Walkersville, WV, a son of Noah B. Claypoole and Lona G. Conrad Claypoole.
Melvin was self employed as a handyman. He attended Walkersville High School.
John C. Rollison, 84, of Marietta passed away at 3:00am, Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at his home.
He was born November 23, 1940 in Marietta a son of Herman Rollison and Helen Enochs Rollison. John had been employed by Broughton’s Dairy and later for the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a great father and he enjoyed farming.
Joseph Allen Bailey, 61, of Marietta passed at 6:00 am, Monday, January 20, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 27, 1963, in Marietta a son of the late Frank Bailey and the late Mary Jones Bailey. He was employed in the construction trade.
Gary C. Thomas, 85, of Marietta passed away January 19, 2025. He was born January 21, 1938, to Marie Bayles Edgell.
He graduated from Newport High School in 1956. He married Kay Reynolds on July 29, 1962. He worked at Big Bear until he retired.
Lynne Estelle Markley Wetzel Groves, 82, passed from Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV and went Home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 16, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1942 to Audrey and Ralph Orben Markley in Marietta, Ohio. She was a 1960 graduate of Marietta High School. Lynne married Tom Wetzel on February 10, 1961. She was the secretary to the principal at Marietta High School for over two decades. Lynne retired from the Marietta City School system after nearly thirty years of service. She was a member of Harbor Site Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 15 years.
George A. Hendrickson, 69, of Marietta passed away at 5:42 pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 22, 1955, in Marietta a son of Thomas Albert Hendrickson and Laurena Carver Hendrickson. He had been employed by Warren Township.
